(Wednesday) I gave up some hits, but it's not a big thing. Spring training is over. |
For me, spring is over. Just get my work in. I had pitched well to this point. Not that this was a terrible outing, or anything. It's spring, and that's a pretty good lineup over there, especially power-wise. |
I don't hurt. I don't wake up in the middle of the night hurting. ... Any time you're coming off an injury, you have to stay positive. And I knew one day it would all turn around for me, and hopefully this will be the beginning of a long time being healthy. |
I don't think you're ever allowed to have a bad day as far as getting ready-wise. (Wednesday) was not a step backwards. After they just scored a couple of runs, you think, 'Let's just get our work in, let's keep the ball down. Let's do some things.' It's my first time handling adversity. You can't have everything rosy for you. You need to see how you handle that, and (Wednesday) was a very step forward in handling a little bit of adversity. |
I just tried to go out there and keep the ball in the ballpark and let my defense make some really good plays. The guys behind me picked me up. |
I just tried to go out there and keep the ball in the ballpark. My guys behind me helped me out. I just kept the ball in the ballpark. |
I pitched fine, not well enough to win. Games like today, you don't like to see those runs come across. |
I really didn't make terrible pitches. They just seemed to find a hole here or there. I guess that's where you're supposed to tip your cap. What can you do? |
I think I pitched fine, but not well enough to win. I tried to give my team an opportunity to win the ball game. It just didn't work out for us today. |
I think I pitched fine, not well enough to win. |
I wanted her to do something healthy, and she ends up breaking her back. |
I was disappointed to lose one like this. I felt like I was beating them. I thought we were beating them. ... It really got away from me quick. |
I'm just excited to get out there and get some statistics and real wins and losses going. Spring Training is so long; we're finally at the end of the tunnel. |
I'm just trying to pitch and listen to what (pitching coach Mike) Butcher and Joe tell me. |
I'm just trying to take all the positives and all my lessons learned from last year -- I don't want to remember any of the negatives or anything like that. I just chalk all [the negatives] up to being hurt. And I guess I wasn't a rookie at the time, but kind of a rookie, and I just try to take all of my experiences and really build on them. You don't want to dwell on the negatives. |
