(The Relay) was held with 12 hours of celebration, laughter, tears, reflection, walking -- and even a few yawns. As a chance to honor cancer survivors for their courage, it was certainly a success. |
(The teams) washed cars, bared their legs, sold garage sale junk, offered luminaries, sold suns and moons, baked foods and more to raise money. |
Twelve hours. It can stretch out forever when you're waiting to hear the report on a biopsy. It can literally evaporate when it's the last hours spent with a dying loved one. Or, it can bring hundreds of people together in the fight against cancer through Relay for Life. |
