All the practices were very intense, very upbeat. The first couple nights it looked like somebody had shot them with a gun. They were laying on the ice, throwing up and everything. It took us three or four weeks to get by that and you can see the results. It's a different team.

He obviously was the offensive leader of the team. He had a lot of speed and he was strong in the middle. He was one of the better two-way players around.

He was a very sound defensive type of individual. We would play a pinch defensively and he picked up on it real good.

I told the boys in there that I can't get much more out of them. They have every right to be proud.

It was a big turnaround from last year. They worked hard. I went to the coaches meeting recently and I sat next to (Brandon coach) Tim (Stone). I said 'I hope we can give you a game' and he said 'Don't feed me that, I just don't want to get in a skating match with you guys.' They said at the meeting when you play Linden you better lace up your skates, because you are going to skate hard for 45 minutes.

It was an absolute pleasure watching him play. He has a tremendous future ahead of him. He is a very sound player both ways. His skills are probably better of any boys in the area.
