I don't know what it is about the open road that makes it so appealing. Maybe it's because when you're headed somewhere, you don't have to be where you've already been.

I don't think I ever cracked up as much in my life as I did during my stepfather's funeral service and burial. All we could do to prevent crying was to laugh throughout it. Laughter is very powerful. It's something that can't be underestimated.

I try to mix it up. Who wants to see a comic who just goes on with one subject, such as politics, for an hour? I go in a number of different directions. When I perform, there is no subject that is taboo.

No matter how things go for me, the one thing that I never want to get above is criticism. A lot of people in this industry don't like criticism. I think you need something to keep you in check.

Some people get offensive at some of my jokes. It was nice to see that this audience 'got it.' Nothing I say is offensive, but just good debating points.

When donations are made it should simply be to help, not to get credit, ... I would rather them make (a donation) and feel good about themselves.
