They worked him pretty hard yesterday so we completely stayed away from him [Sunday] and hopefully everything will work out fine.

They'll go home feeling better than us. The good news is, we've got another one in 12 hours.

They're looking to see if it's mended to the point where he can increase his baseball activity.

They've played very well against us.

This guy is as valuable as anyone we've seen – to our club, in the league. Unbelievable – his ability to do what he does and the timing of it. He's an awesome hitter all the time but it's his ability to do what he does to help us win games that's so great.

This hasn't been a real easy year for us. There have been a lot of things not really [going] the way we wanted to. And we've managed to hold our own.

This is a day where our player development staff should be very proud. A lot of people did a great job, and you see it with those pitchers.

This is the toughest thing I've ever gone through. I don't mean that I hated it. I just mean that it was a very difficult year.

This is what he needs to do. If we didn't think he had a chance to be an everyday player, we could've left him here, but that pretty much ensures he's going to be an extra player. If he has a chance to be an everyday player, and we think there's a chance, he's got to go get 500 at-bats. And he hasn't been a Triple-A, besides the rehab stuff. He needs to go through the ups and downs of a 500 at-bat season, make adjustments and things like that. It'll be good for him.

This kid is going to have a good, long career. It's maybe starting at a little bit of an awkward time because of when he signed, because of how high he was drafted, because of how highly the organization thought of him, because of the thing with his arm, because of [Portland] going through the playoffs.

This time last year we hadn't won anything, so basically we're in the same position, ... We sold out every game. Everywhere we went was craziness. It feels as if we played 162 playoff games.

This was one of those things where Theo thought to himself that if we found ourselves in a 12-inning game at some point this weekend and a situation arises where we could use him and we didn't have him . . . he'd be kicking himself.

Those first couple of innings especially, his ball was catching a lot of the plate. They were taking some pretty healthy swings. He gathered himself, gutted it out, but once you give up five early ones, the next time they do some damage, it?s probably time to make a move.

Those lefties were waiting for Foulke.
