As a coach, I've changed. |
I am really proud of our team. This was an extremely physical, borderline out-of-control game, and our kids held their composure well. It was really hard to play under some of the conditions going on. |
I learned that I had to take it easy a little bit. Now, if I'm watching tape and I'm getting tired, I turn it off and I go to bed. |
I think I'm a lot more patient. I think I was more a drill sergeant in the early years. |
I'll use this as a reference point-a motivating factor for the kids when we head into next season. |
It was a nice opportunity to play all of our players. |
It's humbling. This is my home. These kids are my extended family. I'd just rather talk about the players. |
It's strange, because you have to show discipline and be disciplined. But you also have to show them you are human, too. |
The business is on fire. |
The kids understood how important defense was and playing together on defense. We played a great defensive game against Conestoga on opening night and that kind of set the tone for the entire season. |
There wasn't a clear-cut dominant team in Triple-A this year. Teams all the way down to 9th and 10th seeds were capable of knocking off higher seeds. Unfortunately, we were the ones that got knocked off. |
Things have come together for us. We've turned into a very smart team and a team that takes pride on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor. |
This is a wide-open tournament in my mind. You look top to bottom and there are kids on every team left that could make a substantial impact on the makeup of the tournament. Nothing should be taken for granted by anyone, that's for sure. |
This isn't about me. It's about our kids. |
We expected to win especially after the season we had. |
