As a young girl, I wanted to be a first-grade teacher. When I was about 12 years old, I saw an Easter Seals commercial on television that really made me want to do something in my life in which I would help children with I/DD.
I am honored that I have been recognized by many groups for my accomplishments. I work hard and am glad that I can realize many goals so that others can be helped.
I am the first in my class to receive this distinction. I have a unique area of expertise and it is great to have it honored.
I was able to interact with the greatest minds in all disciplines that serve this population.
My work has really involved a means to which I can tell a collection of similar life stories that together can impact other lives and perhaps policies that affect those lives to make them better.
