I sincerely hope that the PFP and the CPC, together with compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, will make concerted efforts to maintain peace and stability in areas across the Taiwan Straits, continue to promote the development of cross-straits relations, and commit ourselves to rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, |
I started lifting weights last summer, so I am improving with the shot put. That has always been one of my lesser events that I didn't care for in the past. It is a challenge for me, and I see that I'm getting better and more consistent. It is definitely a challenge trying to balance competing in three events during a meet. |
I think [the team chemistry issue will] take care of itself. I don't think it something where myself or any other leaders on the team should try to put too much pressure on his shoulders. I think what we have to do is set good examples. Once he begins to realize that we're all in this together, things will begin to pan out. |
I think he's one of those guys that Earl Weaver talked about, when you get into the car, you come to the park and know that he's pitching for you, you feel pretty good. I certainly feel pretty good. I feel pretty good with all of them right now. They're all doing a good job. Hopefully, it's contagious and we can keep it up. |
I think it still brings a lot of the same lessons that it brought 20 years ago. It's a snapshot of the past. Colin Powell would not be Colin Powell were it not for the guys in World War II, young black men who went to the war and came back and got an education and fought for their civil rights. It's a mirror to the present. |
I think it's more nerve-wracking being on the sidelines than it is being on the court. When you're on the court, you have the confidence that you can win. You know you're in charge of your destiny, you're in charge of what happens out there. When you're on the sidelines, you don't have any control. So it was tough watching. |
I think John has a chip on his shoulder this year to really prove that he deserves this scholarship that Penn State is giving him. It really seems like Johnny's on a mission to make his senior year a special one and to prove to everyone that he is one of the top pitchers in the league, if not the best pitcher in the league. |
I think string instruments in general were something I felt an affinity for. I liked the bass. I was a rhythm guitarist and the bass seemed a more interesting thing to do than play chords. It didn't have the high profile of the lead guitarist, but I wasn't really ready for that at the time. It seemed to suit my personality. |
I think that both Kate and Samantha did well in their individual performances. It was great to see Kate make it to finals to score for the team. I think Samantha swam well, but she will tell you she didn't. She came down with a cold the week of districts, and it lingered throughout the trip to state and it had some effects. |

I think the (PPI and core PPI) numbers will make the Fed a bit more comfortable that the status quo is fine, ... The core PPI is the one they really care about. It's really telling us that the inflation story is not running away from us. That doesn't mean the debate won't be heated. But this number does tilt the apple cart. |
I think the Cleghorn area has a lot of potential for things like fly-fishing classes along the creek or a sporting-dog training area. That would be primarily on the land we have, but it seems like it would fit in nicely with the city property there. Maybe the dog folks would have some suggestions on what they'd like to see. |
I think the players should be able to hold their heads high. It wasn't a win. It wasn't what we came to do, but it's hard to explain all the distractions and all the turmoil and all the things that have happened and the effect it could have on these kids. For them to come and play like they did, I'm extremely proud of them. |
I think they've had similar success, but there's one huge difference. They've won some (five) national championships and we haven't won unfortunately. I think other than that, there are a good many parallels with the programs. It is a basketball program that I think at any given time has been the face of women's basketball. |
I think this team really started to blossom in January. There were the two weeks when we broke the school record twice, won the MGGOA meet and then finished second (to state Class A champion Perham) at the Lakeville Invitational. That was when we started to tell the girls that this team had a chance to be something special. |
