I would urge any investor to do as much thorough analysis as they're capable of and that means looking broadly at the fundamentals of a company's business, ... Look at its business model and what its source of revenue is, how it's positioned in its market, where its growth comes from and where potential new growth could come from. |
I wouldn't be surprised if the institutions, such as pensions and endowments that have been plowing so much money into emerging-market funds, will see this pull back as an opportunity to plow more in. It doesn't feel like the pull back will continue for too long before investors will again rediscover strong emerging-market growth. |
I'd like to have a vote on it at the November [owners'] meetings. There's no reason why we can't announce who we intend to sell the team to in conjunction with signing the lease. But it's very important that we sign a lease contemplated by the stadium agreement. We continue to negotiate and hope that this will quickly be resolved. |
I'll just go as far as saying that we've improved a lot. And a month ago I would just say that it would depend on the night. If everybody was on the same page, yes. If not, no. But I think that right now we're doing a good job of stepping up. Whoever doesn't play well you don't notice it because there's other players that step up. |
I'll try to answer you, but you can't put a lot of faith in what I'm going to say, ... I know in one meeting I said if we look at this a year from now it will be clear, or should be clear, you know, what is and what we can do and what's attainable and how quickly, and I still think that's true. God knows, I would hope that's true. |

I'm not a fine guy, I don't go back and try to point fingers on what people did. If it didn't happen, it's not going to stop my preparation for San Francisco. It's nothing that's going to make me go out and buy a Wendy's triple-stacked cheeseburger. I'm not going to buy them any flowers or take somebody from the league out to eat. |
I'm not sure I'll ever hit that level and to the level of official stature that Bob Woodward had for his Nixon coverage, simply because I'm an outsider, ... But to the degree that the story now threatens a president, I do think it's on the same level as what Woodward and Bernstein did with their coverage and applying the pressure. |
I'm not sure it really matters what I feel about it. It is what it is. I think it can be a positive thing for our sport, but we'll just sit back and see what happens. I'm not sure if any of us like or dislike it, but we can't do anything about it. Its second year hasn't even started, so we'll just ride it out and see how it works. |
I'm not sure right now if the fans and public know how exciting it's going to be -- at least here in the U.S.. I know in a lot of other countries, people back home are getting extremely excited about this. It's going to be an amazing event. When you've got all the premier players in the game playing, there's really nothing better. |
I'm not the guy who will take many shots, ... Some games I might, just because of the way the defense will work. I haven't really been the one who's shooting a lot. I much more prefer to get my teammates involved and make sure the team is running properly. I would like to take 20 shots, don't get me wrong, but it might not happen. |
I'm preparing now for all that. Because it's stupid to wait. (If management tells me) 'You're the coach,' well now I've got all this work to do. I'm working on summer programs right now. And I have been individualizing each program and giving goals for the summer. If I am the coach, I'll hand them out. If not, I'll take them home. |
I'm pretty overwhelmed right now and a little bit sick along with it, ... We'll see how the day goes. I was fortunate enough to be there for Ernie and Billy and Ron. I was on the field for all those ceremonies not even thinking that I would have a day come like today. Being in their company and joining them means everything to me. |
I'm pro-choice, but I adopted eight children. I support our current gun laws, but I have a close relationship with my .30-06 Model 70 Winchester [rifle] with a dot Weaver scope that my father gave me in 1958. I'm a citizen volunteer. I've farmed for eight years. I'm a business owner. I support transit and I'm from rural Minnesota. |
