I eventually had my first match on Oct 2, 1990 in Ponoka, Alberta….and on August 22, 2005 in Hampton, Virginia, I had my last match. For now. Yes it’s true. After months of speculation and rumors and numerous decoys and red herrings being thrown about, the official news from the boss man (me) is that I am leaving the WWE...[I am a] goal oriented person who thrives on a challenge and I’m not challenged by wrestling at this point in time. |
I follow what's going on in the game, who's going where and what former players are doing, ... Whether you're in scouting or management or coaching, you have an impact and it matters how your team does. You make sure you do your job well because you have a potential to make a difference. Just being a part of an organization -- whether it be the Olympic program, or just your own club -- maybe you're not on the ice, but it still matters to you. |
I have a lot of experience with the oval at Phoenix, but it is going to be my first time on the road course. I just have to remember to turn left a little harder into one. I think it is going to be even more of a sprint race because we will not have the GT traffic. Almost all of the cars are going to be running the same lap times. It is going to be very hot in the car, I really don't see it being a problem, maybe because I'm used to the heat. |
I know how I feel about it. I know how I'll always feel about it. He's one of the most special guys I've ever been around. That will never change. Saying that, we have to face him 19 times this year and probably more. I hope he gets no hits against us. That's not going to happen. I don't want him to help a good team be better, but I'm very fond of him. I think he knows that. How fans react, I actually didn't waste much time thinking about it. |
I know there are a lot of people that don't want to hear it, but when I look back on it, stuff-wise, that's every bit as good as I threw the ball last year from a pure physical standpoint, ... Every time I needed to reach back, I felt like I did and had something extra on the ball. I had all four of my pitches. I just didn't pitch well. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to feeling that good and not pitching well. That was kind of odd for me. |
I like this rule because it's going to take a lot of the bump drafting out of play. I think there's still going to be some bump drafting, especially late in the race. But I think it will make guys have to think a little bit more about how they pass. That goes back to the type of drafting I learned early on. We used the air to push the cars around instead of the bumpers. I like that type of drafting, and I'm curious to see how we'll manage it. |
I miss my husband. We’ve been married for 48 years ... It’s the first time we’ve been apart, but it’s good for me to see what Linda’s been through with her books for the past six years. She has such a following. Now I really get it. We’re having fun but it will be good to get back home. My son is building a cottage between mine and Linda’s and my daughter Beth has a place on the island. It’s a beautiful time of the year there. |
I think Delphi had a business plan to go bankrupt, but it got out of hand and went faster than they wanted, and it's become very messy. Also, Miller was very cocky. He was very antagonistic, and thought he was going to roll over the UAW. And the UAW International probably hoped that we would scare us bad enough so that we would roll over for concessions. Instead, the UAW rank-and-file response has been outrage and a willingness to fight back. |
I think the key thing probably was the leaders on our team. After that day was over and we came back in on Sunday, I think the leaders chose to look forward rather than backward, and we really didn't dwell on the circumstances in terms of what our record was or that we were going to walk into two tough situations. We knew we had two tough challenges ahead of us and just got back onto focusing on what we could do to get back into winning ways. |
I was born and raised here, so I'm a little biased, but with each passing year, I have become more and more thankful that I live in Nevada. You don't see hurricanes or anything like that, other than an occasional record snowfall or a drought, and we're always in a state of drought here. The people of Nevada have kind of an individual spirit about them, and I fit into that, you have a lot of wide open spaces, and there's a lot of good fishing. |
I wouldn't have been in favor of moving ahead with litigation if I had not thought it was necessary. Is it unfortunate? Yes. It's very unfortunate, but when you have a room packed full of people asking what we're going to do about their jobs and the corporation worked for that lied to the heads of the state of Iowa ... then you have a situation in question that could keep those jobs here, you ask a judge to figure who's right and who's wrong. |
I?m just trying to do a little more talking to the guys and assuring them I?m with them regardless, mistakes or no mistakes. I feel like it?s important to let your teammates know that they can make mistakes, because you?re definitely gonna make them. We feel like we can make mistakes and live with them if they?re aggressive mistakes. I just talk to my squad as much as I can and just try to be there for them because that?s what they do for me. |
I'd call it an organic hip-hop style, musically. Back in the late '80s and early '90s, people sampled a lot, and because of that these records had a feel. They weren't recorded in a computer with a click track. . . . When I was approaching this record, what I wanted to do was try and get back to that, but I write music, I play music, so I wanted to write every note, record every note and play every note, and get that kind of hand-played feel. |
I'd like to thank Alex and Brian Lawton for notifying us of Alex's decision prior to the arbitration hearing tomorrow in Toronto. This was not unexpected and I respect Alex for making this family decision. This creates the opportunity for additional ice time for players like Marco Sturm, Niko Dimitrakos and Milan Michalek. If and when Alex decides to return to the National Hockey League, we look forward to him playing for the San Jose Sharks. |
I'll never complain about the cards we're given. We have to work with all of them. I really don't look at other organizations and compare us, because we have enough work to do with the guys we have here. You read all the stuff about where we're ranked, but we had eight guys on the 25-man roster last year. And since I've been here, we've never had a guy come back here in the big leagues with someone else that we released or lost in the Rule 5. |
