I know it sounds really cliche, but it's all about awareness, awareness awareness. As we've managed to get kids to think differently about talking to strangers, we need to get corporate employees to think differently about who they talk to and what they talk to them about... and who they talk in front of. Situational awareness has to be a part of any training... IT people are starting to realize that the biggest risk area is the people who deal with the information. |
I learned so many different things while studying for the quiz. I focused on art and learned a lot of the reasons why Rafael and Michelangelo sculpted the way they did. I learned how David was very mathematical. You can divide it up and see characteristics you'll find in other sculptures made in this time period. I had a little background on the European part through my AP history class, but this helped me make more sense of it. I'm basically studying twice as much. |
I really don't, for a number of reasons. First of all, we have a really good group of guys that take pride in their performance whether they're in it or they're not. Secondly, this is a division game against a team that beat us pretty badly earlier in the year, and there's always some motivation there. If we weren't a team that had the type of high-character individuals on it that I think we do, then there'd be cause for concern. I think we'll give it our best shot. |
I say in my book that a lot of the music our forebears created was written for rich, snotty, snobby people who had enough money to buy theatre tickets. There was a great deal of trivia, a shallow quality to things ... ... You know, that 'I've got rhythm, I've got ...', there's something about it that's not very serious, and at least popular music during our generation began crossing over into an area where it was saying something about the conditions that prevailed. |
I think it was Laurence Olivier who said that one of the things you have to accept in art is that when you put your heart into doing something there will be people who don't like it for really good reasons, really smart people who don't like what you've done for very valid reasons. That is hard to accept, that there are really valid reasons for not liking anything. The astonishing thing is that there haven't been many valid reasons for anyone not to like this movie. |
I was in Studio 3 cutting a song with, I think, the Irish Rovers, ... I saw a record on the wall in the hall by Johnny Rivers. It had this song 'By the Time I Get to Phoenix.' And that made me curious. I wondered if it was about the city or the bird. So I listened to it, and I cried because it made me homesick. And if you can cry to Johnny Rivers, you know that's a good song. I recorded it the next day. And lo and behold it was one of the biggest records I ever had. |
I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team. |
I'm just trying to be positive. I like the guys (I'm) around. Even though we're not at the record I'd like to be, even after a loss, guys are mad, but then we have fun and you move on. They look up to me. I've been around eight years. A lot of these guys were in junior high or high school when I came into the NBA. I see how much of an influence I am off the court. I try to be careful how I approach things on and off the court, because I know these guys are watching. |
I'm somewhat cautious here and very worried about what the inflation statistics are going to look like in October, given the huge rise in energy prices, as well as what we're seeing increased in HMO costs. Right now I think the market is in a rally. It's off the latest low in early August. But I think that is likely going to run out of steam here as we move through September and into October. So I'd be very cautious for the rest of the year once we get into October. |

I've told Kenyon this, I've told (reporters) this, I've told his agent this. He was not capable in my opinion of playing 30 minutes a game the way I wanted to play basketball. And I said that in February and March. That's just the way it is. I know he wanted to. I know his heart said he could. And that's great because that's the great courage of a great competitor. But physically he was not capable of doing that, in my opinion. And that hasn't changed since January. |
If a team believes they are outmatched or that an opponent cannot be stopped in Foxboro or anywhere else, that can adversely affect the outcome for that team. I seriously doubt that any professional team with a 7-0 record, regardless of prior historical outcomes, would perceive itself outmatched by anybody, anywhere. Also, even though there are some players who probably played on all of those teams, I'd guess at least half of the starters don't go back all that far. |
If he hits a ball hard, you can get him out. If he hits it soft, he'll beat it out every time. He has an incredible burst the last 15 feet or so. There have been six or seven times this season when an umpire will anticipate a little bit and call him out and then realize that he was safe. I got thrown out of a game or two because I got tired of seeing that. I don't know if he's going to win the rookie of the year or not, but there is no doubt he's an exciting player. |
If you look at what's performing today in Germany it's DaimlerChrysler as it looks like they are restructuring at a faster pace than the market expected, and this is precisely what the story is about for markets. Companies around Europe are restructuring, particularly in Germany, so forget who won the election, restructuring and reforms will continue to take place no matter which government is appointed, maybe not as quickly as thought, but still they are happening. |
It is pretty unusual that the peace process should not be influenced by elections. A new election cycle is expected to start in 2007 and it will last approximately three years. In other words, there will be elections in one or the other country [during that period]. We know by experience that any election slows down the peace process as it happened in 2003 [when there were presidential polls in Azerbaijan]. Sometimes, it even brings it to a halt for quite some time. |
