I managed to knock proverb

I managed to knock him off his pedestal for a week.

I think we can knock them off their pedestal. I think we can do them but, more importantly, the team think they can win. No-one needs to tell them what they have to do; they all know.

Like you guys (the media) have always been saying, you can't be the champion unless you beat the champs. It felt good to unseat them, to knock them off their pedestal.

Your opponents realize that it's been 'X' amount of years since you've been beaten. It's tough, you get everybody's best game. They want to knock you off your pedestal. That's a challenge in itself.

The pedestal is immobilizing and subtly insulting whether or not some women yet realize it. We must move up from the pedestal.

People put you on a pedestal when you become famous, in their eyes, or if they really respect your work, they might put you on a pedestal, but I didn't get that as a kid.

I was writing a chapter of Beautiful Evidence on the subject of the sculptural pedestal, which led to my thinking about what's up on the pedestal-the great leader.

I've never actually dug up any news story on a pedestal before. I don't understand the value of being on a pedestal.

I guess because of the way we grew up, we don't put people on a pedestal as high as other people do because we didn't know the pedestal existed.

No man ever got very high by pulling other people down. The intelligent merchant does not knock his competitors. The sensible worker does not work those who work with him. Don't knock your friends. Don't knock your enemies. Don't knock yourself.
  Alfred, Lord Tennyson

It's definitely a relief. It's a long week, and I managed to hang on in the end. It was hard work. It was a grind all week.

There is a progression of understanding vis-a-vis pro football that varies drastically with the factor of distance -- physical, emotional, intellectual and every other way. Which is exactly the way it should be, in the eyes of the amazingly small number of people who own and control the game, because it is this finely managed distance factor that accounts for the high-profit mystique that blew the sacred institution of baseball off its ''national pastime'' pedestal in less than fifteen years. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality.
