 The Apollo program was very goal-driven. Get people to the moon. Get them back safely. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. Mission done. The big difference with the (new) exploration vision is that the moon is not the goal. The moon is a steppingstone.

 Our initial findings support the potential existence of some unique varieties of oxygen –rich glassy soils in both the Aristarchus and Apollo 17 regions . They could be well-suited for visits by robots and human explorers to learn how to live off the land on the Moon.

 After the third mission, Apollo became not a gateway to exploration, but a singular moment, ... From Earth to the Moon.

 What this mission buys us is an early attempt at getting to know what some of the resources are there that have large implications on what we do in future exploration, especially in the near term as we go and do the missions to the Moon and as we're preparing to go . . . to Mars. We know for sure that for human exploration to succeed, we're going to have to learn eventually to live off the land.

 There has been growing interest in the polar regions. And the international community has decided it is again time for a collaborative effort to better understand these regions.

 The Apollo program was about flags and footprints, and it was effective in helping to win the Cold War with the Soviet Union. The Apollo leadership also managed to tack on some science activities, but they were definitely afterthoughts. But those times have passed, and we must move beyond the Apollo concept to embrace a more engaging and sustained approach. I hope this program is successful in doing this. I will be properly ecstatic if program officials are successful in doing so.

 I think aggressively touching the moon is an understatement. What this mission buys is an early attempt to know what some of the resources we're going to have ... we know for sure that for human exploration to succeed we're going to have to essentially live off the land.

 We went back to Apollo [moon walks], where [ground control] was providing blow-by-blow advice to astronauts who would narrate all of their activities. The point is, when you're on Mars you can't be having this conversation with folks back in Houston because of the time delay.

 We're constantly on the look-out for new projects and monitoring the market. We'd like to bolster our core assets, including exploration, refining, processing and retailing assets in the regions where we have a strong presence.

 Comets are some of the most informative occupants of the solar system. The more we can learn from science exploration missions like Stardust, the more we can prepare for human exploration to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

 For future exploration, when we have the objective of going to the Moon, it is important to have several possibilities to go there, and within this framework of cooperation to have our own access to orbit around the Moon.

 If the settlement activities in Palestinian land and construction of the so-called separation wall on confiscated Palestinian land continue, we might soon find ourselves at a situation where the foundation of peace, a free Palestine state living side by side in peace and security in Israel, is a factual impossibility.

 I have 3.5 million customers including ex-US presidents Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and movie stars who have purchased land on the moon.

 Very little is known about this region because it hasn't been well measured, especially in the polar regions.
