He's really kind of proverb

 He's really kind of an unknown commodity, because we haven't had much success. But he's going to get into somebody's camp, and I think he's got a chance to be drafted.

 There is something about guys that either don't get drafted or get drafted late and have success. You really kind of pull for those guys. We were lucky enough to get chances. Kurt Warner is the same way. Marc Bulger and that guy from New England (Tom Brady).

 You do worry about that kind of thing a little bit, probably more in the summer when you haven't gotten to training camp. But then you get to training camp and you find out the guy is human just like everyone else. You build friendships and you play hockey.

 It was a black mark on me. I had a chance to get drafted and get like a $50,000 or so bonus, but I didn't even get drafted and I think that definitely was a big part of it. I think it was better for me in the long run, though, because as a free agent, I could pick the best team for me to go to.

 It's fear of the unknown. The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that--it's all illusion. Unknown is what it is. Accept that it's unknown and it's plain sailing. Everything is unknown--then you're ahead of the game. That's what it is. Right?

 It's not like we're happy that they haven't had that kind of success, or that we're glad they haven't always done well. But it does give you a sense of pride to see what we did there with Chuck.

 When I signed here, Mark and I talked about how I'd finally be able to pitch for him and the Indians. Someone said, 'He was drafted by Cleveland 15 years ago, and he's finally going to get a chance to suit up for that team.' I kind of got the chills when I read that.

 When he was drafted by Chicago, he was trapped behind some awfully good players and just never really got a chance. I think he appreciates the opportunity to get another chance.

 There used to be a thing or a commodity we put great store by. It was called the People. Find out where the People have gone. I don't mean the square-eyed toothpaste-and-hair-dye people or the new-car-or-bust people, or the success-and-coronary people. Maybe they never existed, but if there ever were the People, that's the commodity the Declaration was talking about, and Mr. Lincoln.

 I do anticipate him carrying the football maybe more so than he has. That has been the case as we've gotten deeper into the season. But we have to be able to count on our other two backs as well. Fisher has been a role player for us. Lee is an unknown commodity. We'll just have to play that out.

 I think after going through that process and coming back and having a chance to kind of reflect on a lot of the positives, I came to the realization that I had it pretty good in San Diego. This was the organization that drafted me, made me scouting director and the GM at a very young age, an organization that has stuck with me through some very difficult times.
