Over the next fiscal proverb

 Over the next fiscal year, we have more of the same. This is part of the transition.

 We are clearly disappointed in our results for fiscal year 2000. We are looking at fiscal year 2001 as a transition and rebuilding year for Lucent. Lucent remains a company with world-class products, people and knowledge of networks, and we are fortunate to compete in one of the world's leading growth markets. It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions.

 We are clearly disappointed in our results for fiscal year 2000, ... We are looking at fiscal year 2001 as a transition and rebuilding year for Lucent.  Lucent remains a company with world-class products, people and knowledge of networks, and we are fortunate to compete in one of the world's leading growth markets.

 I feel very good about where we are and so does the rest of the management. We have worked hard through a tough period of transition during these past two fiscal years, while our focus on fundamentals, serving customers and delivering value through integration puts us in great shape this fiscal year and for the future.

 As we've said, fiscal year 2001 is a transition and rebuilding year for Lucent,

 We won't know what those (expectations) are until we put the team together. As a club in transition, the expectations should increase almost daily. But we didn't play these kids just for fun this year. They're being developed, and that's part of the transition.

 With the expectation that (fiscal year 2006) will be a year of 'spend' before the positive impacts are felt during (fiscal year 2007), we believe investors now have some time to wait.

 Our first look for the entire year of fiscal 2001 is also very encouraging, ... We currently believe that fiscal 2001's revenues could exceed fiscal 2000's by more than 50 percent, which would result in fiscal 2001 revenues of more than $3.8 billion.

 This transition away from magnetic storage will allow us to work toward a new business model, which includes improving our profitability rates over the next two years. Assuming a recovery in the semiconductor industry by early next year, we believe we can achieve our new business model targets by the end of next fiscal year.

 This fiscal year should be fine, but the question will be how they do in the next fiscal year. Their share prices are low but the China (supply glut) issue is a big concern.

 We are pleased to have achieved our financial objectives for the fourth quarter and fiscal year. We look forward to carrying the strong momentum generated throughout 2005 into our next fiscal year.

 Our fiscal year ends June 30, and the art auction is to help us finish out our operating expenses for the fiscal year.

 Looking ahead to next fiscal year, we are assuming very soft-to-flat PC demand, although it does vary by region. Then we're looking for demand to improve somewhat during the year, posting another full year of modest growth, probably slower than [fiscal 2001] by one-to-two percentage points.

 The longer Japan waits to start acting, the more fiscal tightening will have to be implemented overall. While everyone wants to stand around and cheer the strong GDP report, we believe that economic growth will be significantly muted as fiscal restructuring is implemented in the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

 We knew going into the game that they loved the transition game. I was disappointed in our defense. For the most part we were unable to take away enough of the transition offense. We'd make a mistake and they scored in transition.
