I hope the momentum proverb

 I hope the momentum comes back and we're able to establish to where we were, because we were playing pretty well as a team the last 15 or 16 games. We've had some terrific practices here.

 Right now, our biggest challenge is getting a few games and some good outdoor practices in. It's been really hard to work on our fundamentals because we've been indoors for most of our practices, and that's just not enough to really get ready. We're also a pretty young team, especially in our pitching staff, so we just really need those extra games that we've lost.

 This game is all about momentum, ... I think last night had (it) rolling through tonight. Momentum is what carries you. Whether you're 30 games back to three games back, momentum can break the spell and help win games.

 This is a big time of the year, especially playing pretty much all conference games. (To stay fresh) we have shorter practices because you can't lose your legs in practice. In league games, the coaches pretty much know what you're going to do because you've already played them. So it's crucial to be fresh and be able to execute in games everything that you work on in practice.

 We had a week's worth of practices two weeks ago, and it was just enough to get the ladder set and establish the varsity team, and that's about it. We've been playing some lobby tennis inside the high school and running in the gym.

 Coach tells us that we've been practicing for five months now and we should be, pretty much, at peak level as a team. We've had good practices, but today was just a bad game overall. We can't really have these kinds of games at this point in the season. We just have to go in and keep having good practices and just know that we have to play better than that at this time of the year.

 I would use the word alarming. We're a team that practices very well and hard, and we pass the ball well, and we've shown we can rebound. Through nine games, we all have to take a hard look at what we need to do to shore that up. If we could shore that up, we'd have a terrific team.

 The overall mood of the team is frustration because we have put in a lot of work and effort into practices and games. Our youth and inexperience has shown up in some games, but we are playing a lot of tough teams in a very competitive conference.

 It just seems like we're constantly letting this team back into games when we get maybe an edge or a little bit of momentum. It would have been nice to continue to gain momentum and increase our lead, but that's the way it goes.

 We are playing better as a team right now, and we are giving more effort all the way through. We've always had the effort in practices, but at times, we haven't played as hard as we could in games. Right now, the kids are playing awfully hard in the games.

 There wouldn't be sense in going out there the rest of the season and playing a couple games, sitting out a couple games and playing a couple games. That's not helping the team. Right now this team needs chemistry. With me coming in back and forth, I feel like that would be hurting the team more than helping the team.

 Everyone's playing their best and playing with confidence. We're really looking forward to what's next. We're not satisfied where we're at. We hope to be playing in three games back-to-back-to-back.

 I hope that's kind of the reason they put me on this team, was that I hope the rest of the teammates have the confidence in me to deal with the pressure of playing a fifth match. I'm feeling pretty good about the way I'm playing. Hopefully, I'll do the same on Sunday. It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. I hope that's kind of the reason they put me on this team, was that I hope the rest of the teammates have the confidence in me to deal with the pressure of playing a fifth match. I'm feeling pretty good about the way I'm playing. Hopefully, I'll do the same on Sunday.

 That team in '96 would not have been motivated to continue playing. This team will respond. We hope to play well and carry some momentum into next season.

 We have momentum going. We hope to keep riding the wave as long as it can take us. We feel pretty good. The spirit and morale are pretty high right now. We're playing defense and the offense looks good.
