Coaches can get a proverb

 Coaches can get a little skewed about wanting their kids to get bigger, stronger and faster. It's important you tell your kids to do it the right way.

 The hardest thing we deal with as coaches is that it works. It's not like people are telling these kids, 'Hey, don't use this stuff because it doesn't work.' It works. They know it works. That's why some kids won't listen to you no matter what you say. When you use the stuff, you get bigger and stronger and faster. Kids don't care about all the health risks.

 That's the same in college. It's the same in high school. Kids are getting bigger, stronger, faster, more into the weightlifting, more into nutrition, more into size.

 They were a bigger, faster, stronger, team than we were. We bent, but we never broke and gave a lot up .I think it was an intense fast paced game. Their kids were a lot bigger, which made for an incredible game. Our guys never backed down, playing with a lot of tenacity.

 People will pay a lot for violin lessons, but a small investment with Epicenter can make kids faster and stronger, ... Stronger and faster might mean a college scholarship.

 The kids improved a lot on getting stronger and faster. I think we are better than we were last year at this point. We took the kids to camp again this summer and really got a lot done, and it's made a big difference. They understand things, and they are quite a bit better.

 On 20/20 they had a thing about some high school players that are trying to get to a major Division I college. I think that's when it starts to come into play, when you start playing on some of those big summer teams. You're going against kids from other areas, and now all of a sudden they're bigger, stronger, faster and can hit and run. Then you find out they're on steroids, so they start to do it.  We've seen kids take over spots. We've seen kids put on 25 to 30 pounds and get faster. Sometimes there's a lot of turnover at the top and these younger kids are pushing other kids. It's good for our program.

 My head is not buried in the sand. Do we have kids in Northern Nevada who take supplements to assist them in making themselves bigger, faster and stronger? Yes, we do. I have no doubt. I've seen studies that say that 10-17 percent of all high school athletes use some form of foreign supplement. We're probably right at that average. But are they injecting steroids? I don't know about that. Are they taking supplements? I'm sure they are. Yes.

 If you decide to add football it is important to hire good coaches. It is important to have all coaches work together. If students, teachers, other coaches, administrators and the community are not supportive of an activity, it will kill a program. I feel like anything we add will be a plus for the kids and the community.

 I would hope there would be at least three, maybe more. As coaches, we talk about team play, how important it is. This is an opportunity from a league standpoint to show to people - whether it's college kids or high school kids or AAU kids - how important team play really is. It's a very rare opportunity you'd have as a league to maybe put five guys from one team in.

 It's important to keep kids in a safe secure environment year round. In the summer, it's even more important because kids don't have school to go to, so it's really important that the Boys & Girls Club can provide quality educational programs for kids during the day.

 The kids did a great job. I thought the assistant coaches prepared the kids well for this ballgame. Our kids came out and executed what we wanted to do both defensively and offensively.

 One of the big things spring practice is for is for the kids to be seen. I just hope the kids take advantage of this opportunity. Even the young kids have a chance to be seen. (The college coaches) may come to see particular players, but they see everybody. They're looking at everything.

 They'll be, in general, bigger faster and stronger. That typically is the case when you play teams particularly from the SEC. Up front is usually where you see a bigger size advantage.
