 Many of our patrons have made The Pier their meeting place for generations, ... It is not uncommon to see children and grandchildren of early customers now coming as regulars. The live music, food, view of Lake Austin and relaxing environment seem to call them back.

 Everyone is doing it. I have eight children and 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. They've been calling, bringing food. I think they're trying to fatten me up. I've gotten cappuccino, Chinese food, chicken, you name it, I got it.

 It's too early to start relaxing but also no cause yet for panic. We're not hearing from our utility customers that they are going to have a problem meeting customer demand.

 We'll clearly have an Austin, Texas, flair to what we show people. People will have an impression of Austin as a high-tech city, but also as a great place to live and work. People will get a view of that.

 With all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and in-laws, she still knows everyone's birthday, how old they are and what their favorite food is. Plus she can tell you all about anyone who comes to see her, what they had on, what they said, how long they stayed and where they were going when they left. She has not forgotten a bit of that.

 We're here because we want the board of trustees and ballet management to respond to their audience, their subscribers, their patrons and restore live music, Future Subscriber If There's Live Music.

We need to look ahead to be certain that our actions of today will make the world a better and richer and more varied place for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.

 We have grandchildren of our early customers who call it that because they say they learned it from their grandparents. And we get a lot of young people still. And, we're responsible for a lot of weddings because many people tell me they had their first date here.

 That said, we can't bury our heads in the sand. We have to do more to attract customers and keep regulars coming back. It is no secret that our industry faces new challenges but with every challenge, there is an exciting opportunity.

 The father who sent every report card to Grandma so she could also rejoice in what the children accomplished is no longer there -- and neither is the grandmother, who made each of her 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren believe that that grandchild was her special favorite,

 We view Earth Day as another way to inform students about the progress we have made with our environmental measures on campus and in the community. But (we view it) also as a way to celebrate a great year with some great music, fun activities and hopefully a new appreciation for the environment.

 Our boys had some steals early and we got up 14-4 at one point. We made some big shots under the basket and they [Lake View] kind of left us open.

 We want to ensure there is a place where our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren can enjoy the natural and preserved elements of nature. We are following closely in the footsteps of my father, Albert Carlton, who had an adamant belief to preserve not only the land, but our heritage as well.
