To me the peace proverb

To me, the peace sign is about supporting our troops. I feel like I have to have bumper stickers now. It (angers) some people ... I don't want to offend people ... (but) I can't just sit there and take it.

Supporting our troops is not a bumper sticker. It's more than that, and we have to get out there and do something tangible.

I think most people see through that and see that as a desperate attempt to silence people, to make people believe their voices won't matter. There's nothing un-American about it, or not supporting our troops, or anything like that.

On Monday we are going to have T-shirts and bumper stickers on sale.

People are trying to use their voice in whichever way they feel comfortable. Some people are willing to give up a day of wages. . . . Some people feel they can't afford to do that because they are afraid. We are coming together and supporting each other in prayer, to show the public that immigrants are people. We are here serving you, can't you treat us like brothers and sisters?

You people should be supporting our troops, saying your prayers for them

(Supporting troops) is important because they don't have places to go. ... They need people thinking of them.

There got to be so many people out there, cars were bumper to bumper and it became an unsafe situation. The university and us were both aware of it. We decided at that time to go to a draw hunt.

There are more jokes about losers than there are books about losers. The most common volumes you see written about them are the bumper stickers during the next administration: Don't blame me; I voted for the loser.

Some of the critics are seeing a connection where none is intended. People are perfectly within their rights to oppose the policy of war, but this is about supporting the troops.

Like most people, I have mixed feelings about the war. But what I don't have mixed feelings about is supporting the troops and making sure they have the support and encouragement they need from people back home. And that's what Operation Troop Appreciation is all about.

As this long and difficult war ends, I would like to address a few special words to...the American people: Your steadfastness in supporting our insistence on peace with honor has made peace with honor possible.
  Richard M. Nixon

Walking into the stadium of 80,000 people was amazing. I was nervous at first, but then I started to get into it, waving at people and putting up the peace sign.

Well, I think our president is an idiot and I think that he's a puppet. I think most people will agree with that. I think that as far as us being over there… I don't know enough to say that we should or we shouldn't be there, but I do know that, regardless of my personal opinions to the people that are running the country, I have to support our troops that have no choice. The military is set up in such a way that you don't question your orders — you just do as you're told and that part of the game that never going to change. Saying all that, I'm very supportive of our troops. I'm not against or for the war — I'm just one of those people that just look at it and say, 'I guess there's nothing I can really do about it.' I guess all I can do is look at those people and go 'Best of luck, be safe.'

We are very concerned about having troops in one of the most difficult provinces of Afghanistan. We would then have troops that are both peace-building and fighting and that is confusing. For the people living there it would not be clear when they deal with a Dutch soldier whether they are dealing with a peacemaker or a fighting soldier and that is a dangerous thing.
