Obviously they're going to lose a great man who has done a tremendous job – a tremendous job. That has to be one of the toughest jobs that anyone could ever deal with: the owners and the players and all the issues that come up with that. I can understand why he might have felt it was time to retire.

 I continue to believe that the problem lies with the high revenue clubs and the revenue sharing issue. Their refusal to share more revenues is making it worse for everybody -- players, owners, and fans.

 As owners of this great franchise, we understand our responsibility of giving back to the community, be it here locally, or any place in need throughout this nation, ... We are proud of the leadership that our players demonstrated with their donation, and are honored to match that generous amount. We take comfort in knowing that all of our efforts from this week, which combined fans, players, and front office, will have a positive impact on such a devastating situation.
