We just read it proverb

We just read it in the paper this week. It's kind of amazing. Actually we were just talking; we're going to miss it. It's probably one of our favorite stores.

We are friends and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter. I wouldn't mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front. We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often.
  Jeanette Winterson

We had motivation. In the paper, they were talking about how Bloom was the favorite to win. I guess we're considered the underdogs, so we had to go out and prove everybody wrong.

I think it's a stupid way to read a book, ... to say that because something happens to one person the author is trying to suggest that all people are like this. The novel is the art of the particular. And I'm talking about a particular person whose development from innocence to guilt, if you like, is his own particular narrative arc. The point is to make that coherent - not to read the book as some kind of simple allegory, but to read it as a story about a person.
  Salman Rushdie

The only problem with this is, everyone is going to read the paper (today), so don't make us any kind of headlines.

Unfortunately I had to leave my favorite paper supplier because their toilet paper costs went out of control.

SERIAL, n. A literary work, usually a story that is not true, creeping through several issues of a newspaper or magazine. Frequently appended to each installment is a "synposis of preceding chapters" for those who have not read them, but a direr need is a synposis of succeeding chapters for those who do not intend to read
_them_. A synposis of the entire work would be still better. The late James F. Bowman was writing a serial tale for a weekly paper in collaboration with a genius whose name has not come down to us. They wrote, not jointly but alternately, Bowman supplying the installment for one week, his friend for the next, and so on, world without end, they hoped. Unfortunately they quarreled, and one Monday morning when Bowman read the paper to prepare himself for his task, he found his work cut out for him in a way to surprise and pain him. His collaborator had embarked every character of the narrative on a ship and sunk them all in the deepest part of the Atlantic.

  Ambrose Bierce

It was just amazing - people chanting my name, I was kind of like the sentimental favorite, the older guy on the team. I'm glad I did it and hopefully I'll hang around enough to perhaps do it again.

I hear the headlines on the radio, see them on TV and read them in the paper. When I hear from the men out there, I sometimes don't believe they are talking about the same situation.

You might have a favorite book or film, but you can only watch or read it so many times before you have to let it sit and then go back and realize it's your favorite still. At some point everything gets a little stale and you have to step away from it.

That was amazing to me, because that's one of my favorite rappers, right there. Public Enemy's one of my favorite groups, and just to know that Chuck saw it and had something nice to say about it made me feel good.

I told him that if we doubted that we are demons in Hell, he should read The Mysterious Stranger, which Mark Twain wrote in 1898, long before the First World War (1914-1918). In the title story he proves to his own grim satisfaction, and to mine as well, that Satan and not God created the planet earth and "the damned human race." If you doubt that, read your morning paper. Never mind what paper. Never mind the date.
  Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

They're talking to three to four girls right now. Every week I read there's a new Bond girl, and I call them and they say, No, you idiot.

We went to the library a lot, and I let them just read whatever they liked. On Sundays they went to Barnes & Noble to read new books. Now, it's their favorite place.

(I remember) losing in the second round every year, and me not playing my senior year. Our upside was so great, everyone talking about us as the favorite. And then with me going down, that kind of took the energy out of everybody. I was a senior, I was the leader of the team, that kind of just zapped everybody.
