The kids and coaches proverb

 The kids and coaches are pleased to win a game of this caliber. This was high-caliber basketball by both the Midland kids and Dana kids. We made our free throws down the stretch and they missed two or three. That gave us an opening and we finished the game out.

 We missed some free throws down the stretch that we normally hit. It's a little different in sectionals, a little tougher to hit those free throws. Our kids battled and made them work for everything they got.

 There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.

 We didn't handle the pressure very well. And then they hit big free throws down the stretch and we missed some - that really was the game. But I think our kids learned a lot about ball pressure.

 He just needs more experience and to wrestle more high-caliber kids. If he's going to get better, he's got to beat tough kids or compete there with them.

 Give credit to them, they played good defense and made their free throws. This is a special group of kids that never gave up and were in every game. The ball just didn't fall our way.

 I don't think we are [far behind them]. They had three girls really step up for them when they needed it and they made their free throws down the stretch. But the bottom line is the kids played hard and never gave up, and I guess sometimes, you just have to turn around and go back to work.

 It was a very aggressive game, but I thought our kids stepped up and handled the pressure extremely well. I thought we were able to handle their press and get some big baskets then made some big free throws down the stretch.

 We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

 Our kids did a tremendous job in coming through down the stretch. Both teams could have won the game. It was an excellent high school basketball game.

 We are really happy to get a win and the week off really helped the kids prepare. The kids are improving with each game, and the coaches are very pleased with the performance.

 I think everybody got to see some pretty good players. It's nice to see that caliber. Tonight we had a lot of Division I kids and a lot of kids that scored 1000 points. I think the fans enjoyed it and the kids had a good time.

 Basketball is a game of runs. I've heard that from all of my coaches and I tell the kids that now. We made a run and then they made a run. It's just a good hard-fought game when it's like that. I like games like that; those are the best.

 This was a tough game to get up for tonight. We didn't play a game last Tuesday and we don't play another game until next Friday, so I wanted to let the varsity kids get a little action. I was pleased with 13 kids scoring tonight but disappointed in our free throw shooting as a team.

 Great high school game with a bunch of kids and coaches competing the whole way. Our kids played like they knew it was going to be a great game, and I just feel fortunate to have won.
