 It seemed to me to be a God-awful, confused mess. Jon called and asked me to sign on, and it seemed to me that there were several issues involved, the biggest being whether people who had legitimate proxies should have been allowed to vote and whether people whose terms had expired should still be allowed to vote.

 I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

 I said I didn't think people as young as 16 should be allowed to vote. Apparently, they took points off for that.

 They should have been allowed to vote wherever they are - like we did for the Iraqi people and the government paid for it with our tax dollars.

 There are a lot of checks built into the machines. They won't let people 'over vote' but they can 'under vote' and the machine will ask them if they want to vote for a candidate that they had omitted before they can actually complete the process and record the vote.

 People have actually stood in line at the supermarkets to vote and sign to vote. We now know we are not alone.

 They range from fines to possible imprisonment and if the police decide that its a corrupt act and not just an illegal act... then whoever was found to have carried out a corrupt act would not be allowed to vote and therefore would not be allowed to stand as a candidate.

 We already heard talks of it happening so we had a public computer sit out in a lobby and asked people to vote. When they sat down to vote, most of them couldn't because it said they already did.

 The comptroller is not telling people not to vote in the primary. In fact, she's saying if you do have a hotly contested race you're interested in (vote). She is not discouraging people to vote.
