We would be concerned proverb

We would be concerned if the government were to use tax dollars and public facilities to subsidize a commercial enterprise that competes with private business, but certainly at this point have no reason to think that is contemplated by the city's proposal.

At some point, there may have be a bond issue. And there is the hope that some private citizens will come forward. I expect that city, public and private funds will all be needed. We may have to expand the use of the mansion in a more commercial fashion.

These things don't work unless there's some public-private partnership there. The notion that any of this money is just lining our pockets is just erroneous. They're (the county and city) taking over the land, just the way they do with any other private enterprise. . . . This just happens to be more public because it's private sports.

There is no more reason to pay for private education than there is to pay for a private swimming pool for those who do not use public facilities.

[Sometimes it's tough to devise a compelling ROI analysis for the data security expenses contemplated by an enterprise. But, when a business looks at the cost of compromised client and corporate data, along with its exposure to heavy fines imposed by the federal government, the message is clear.] Look at [data and network security] as a selling point, not only a cost to the business, ... It's an investment in your customers that they will appreciate.

I voted against because they're asking us to subsidize a higher percentage than they've done in any other city. I think athletics makes higher profits than almost any other industry. We don't subsidize anybody else to help them build facilities to help them make more money.

We would only deal with public facilities. That's how I see it. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. I'm a little skeptical of government injecting into the private sector.

I personally don't want to see a nickel of my tax dollars subsidize a private development.

We're always concerned when the government is maintaining databases of private information and personal information that's really none of the government's business. When a private entity does it, it's a different matter, but it always raises concerns about our privacy because today they may not be sharing it, tomorrow they may be sharing it with other businesses, with people who may be engaged in using it for illicit purposes.

It's not right to think that the public's interest in protecting species should be the sole burden of private landowners. If the public, through the laws of the federal government, wants costly actions to occur on private land then the public must be willing to step up and help compensate private landowners, where appropriate, for their loss.

BellSouth is opposed to government competing with private enterprise and using any form of subsidy to ensure the success of their business plan,

Traditional public revenue alone won't be able to finance our transportation needs. There are billions of dollars available in the private market and there are more needs than we have (public) dollars available.

The government has got to stop stacking senior positions with people who are repeatedly cashing in on the public trust in order to further private commercial interests.

If this proposal is approved in Minnesota, it will have a disastrous effect on consumers. It will force good drivers and responsible homeowners to subsidize those with poor loss histories by hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
