 The places where businesses shop are different from where individuals shop. Colors and flashiness may appeal to consumers but maybe not to the business market. In fact, they may do just the opposite.

 It's the double-take that we're after. With the new packaging we have created a dominant presence which encourages consumers to shop the entire Mrs. Smith's brand. We want consumers to shop for their favorite product and try other Mrs. Smith's varieties, as well. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing.

 Essentially, we have more places to shop and more people to shop in those places.

 Without i.Shop this level of integration would not have been practical. Both R.O. Writer and Delphi have embraced these standards that allow sharing of customer, shop and vehicle information between front and back shop applications. When we first implemented the i.Shop standards, this is the level of integration and efficiency we had envisioned being possible.

 Gasoline prices are still eating in the consumers' wallet, and fuel costs are now in the price of products that people buy, bringing about inflation worries. The consumer is going to be more budget conscious in the months ahead. They are going to shop around, or they are simply going to shop less.

 The department store business has gone through enormous changes in the last 10 years and we aren't through yet. It's a retail format that doesn't have a great future in it. Consumers have decided traditional department stores aren't their favorite places to shop.

 You can continue to shop and shop and shop and you don't get that psychological payoff.

 Two interesting things are happening. The growth of western-style malls is changing the way urban consumers shop. Secondly, we're seeing many more big box, value-based formats setting up shop. The size of these stores is about 50,000 square feet, a departure from the smaller mom & pop-type store that dominates the local retail landscape.

 Bob loves to shop. He likes to shop the way a woman likes to shop. I think it took him three weeks to pick out his chair.

 More consumers don't just see Wal-Mart as a business, they see it is a social and political issue. Until Wal-Mart changes substantially, those consumers they are going after, who can make a choice about where they shop, will avoid Wal-Mart.

 It's a clever move because it will allow it to test the water. There's scope to succeed because it won't be going head to head with Wal-Mart, but operating a complementary business where you can do a top-up shop and buy everyday essentials there and then do your full monthly shop at Wal-Mart.

 This is what Austin is all about. A shop behind another cool shop behind another shop.

 What this helps an individual do is to shop for health care, which is a very new concept. But because individuals are paying an increasing amount from out of pocket for their health care, they are increasingly looking for information that helps them shop for health care.
