 Our goal was to put together a show that would raise the profile of the vigorous quality of this work. And to try and change the perception about disability and its connection with art and artists while also making this work part of the larger arts conversation.

 In addition to Dr. Hook we have an award-winning blues artist Willie King. He is on the list of Alabama Arts Council's quality artists and is well-known in the arts community for his quality of work.

 We'd like the arts council to stay where they are and work out a (lease) agreement with them. The arts council is an important part of our community. It's a quality of life issue.

 A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be contributed to the startup nonprofit to help it get off the ground. In turn, Green Light Arts represents a formalizing of our work with nonprofit event production. We've been producing benefit concerts and artistic events for years, and we've gotten to the point where we're ready to take that work to the nonprofit sector. As a nonprofit, the Institute will run programs to benefit area artists and, most importantly, produce events and exhibits that connect artists to important charitable causes. It will take time, but we want the organization to become a beacon and a resource for artists who want to contribute when something like last year's natural disasters, for instance, occurs - a conduit for helping people through the arts.

 I say use Arts Walk as a goal, ... Create a body of work. It's a great way to discipline yourself, seeing if you can put together a show.

 He's been absolutely tremendous for us, what he's done in the community, ... He's been busy and he never says no as far as making an appearance or going on a radio show or a TV show. He's really helped raise our profile here in Los Angeles, which we obviously need coming off a lockout.

 People with this disability find it very hard to block out competing noises. For example, if a person with this disability was having a conversation with another person, and a fan was blowing in the room, the person with the disability might not be able to block out the fan and lose the conversation. A noisy class environment could make it tough.

 A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.

 These people are not able to work, and it's validating to have someone buy your work. A couple of the artists have aspirations to build themselves a studio to do more work, full- or part-time. The talent is there to do it.

 This was a way for us to raise our profile in the Salinas area, because we've been doing really good work for many years, ... But we haven't presented any high profile events. It's all been educational events.

 They know the profits from the show go back directly to the kids. It takes nine months to put a show together and we work hard. We work the phones and try to get word out. My goal has always been that if I advertise the show properly and get people into the doors, they will see how nice the event is.

 [Because of Haiti's economic and political turmoil, the supposed 40,000 practicing artists suffer from a lack of exposure for their work and a loss of revenue.] The artists in Haiti support themselves as a peddler would here, selling their works on the street, ... I always thought that the high-quality artists should be seen up here. And it just seemed like this was the right time.

 Part of the focus is educating people about the day-to-day work we do at Legal Aid. ... We've raised our profile in the legal community in terms of the work we do and how we are a big part of the justice system.

 Nebraskans are known for giving of themselves and that quality is part of what makes our state such a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.

 This is an enormously proud day for all of us at CBS News.  We need to change the perception of how the world looks at us as a country and a basketball power and we have to reclaim what we lost. It's a lot about how they look, how they act on and off the court. The only way to change the perception is to have people doing the right thing and that's the goal.
