The promotion of peaceful proverb

 The promotion of peaceful commerce with the region and among Middle East states will help end the political turmoil and economic stagnation that has for too long limited the opportunities for people in that region.

 This agreement also helps the advancement of economic and political freedom in the region. For decades, Oman and the United States have shared a desire for peace, stability and economic opportunity in the Middle East. Today we take an important new step in our partnership.

 The Chinese side feels that there has already been enough turmoil in the Middle East. We do not want to see new turmoil being introduced to the region.

 That's what makes this (ports deal) so confusing to the American people. Even in this region of authoritarian states, the UAE has shown the least proclivity to experiment with some sort of opening of its political system. If you buy into the idea that reform in the Middle East is the answer, the UAE is a hard sell.

 The Middle East healthcare sector is outperforming in terms of what targets the service and equipment providers are setting for this region. The Middle East region is outperforming North America, Europe and Asia in growth terms, and most companies are exceeding their expectations here.

 War should not be an option. The international community should start to solve this matter through peaceful means. The Middle East region doesn't need a new war.

 Since the Pearl River Delta region was the melting pot where East meets West, co-operation of diversified cultures will bring vitality to the region and fuel their economic growth as well.

 This administration is committed to the region. We're making real progress in bringing opportunity to a region that would benefit from economic growth and political freedom.

 We're really excited to grow there. This is really a straightforward story about going to where the opportunities are. These [opportunities] certainly are more robust in the Middle East today than they were 20 years ago. The Middle East is a hotbed of tension, but businesspeople usually think long haul. Long-term, we think there are plenty of safe markets there.

 It is potentially an interesting alternative to Gallup polls or to specialists reporting from the region. It's a way of going directly to individuals in the region or outside who have knowledge or interest in the political and economic events in the area.

 Our heroes are fighting to bring stability to the Middle East, and they have put pressure on all of the tyrannies of the Middle East. They have taken a stand against tyranny, against terrorists, and for the prospect of decent societies throughout that region.

 The real solution to this crisis is a true and meaningful Nuclear Free Zone in the Middle East, not one which is paid lip service to. It is a vital first step towards removing all nuclear proliferation risks in the region, as well as providing the essential security guarantees from nuclear weapons states outside the region. If we don't seriously contemplate this option then the world will, as UN Secretary General Kofi Annan pointed out a few days ago, lurch from nuclear crisis to nuclear crisis.

 The Economic Growth Center will be a support organization for the region and convenient for all stakeholders. It sends a good message internally to us in the building to work together and collaborate, and externally to economic development people in the region. It's not about each one of us being successful individually.

 The United States right now is going through a difficult period in the Middle East, where there is a great deal of animosity toward the United States in the streets, ... It's important now for the United States to be doing things to lower the level of hostility in the region, to be in the position to engage elements of the Arab world in a more important dialogue that would engender some respect.

 What we think is important is that the countries of the region, the leaders of the region, do everything they can to help the Iraqi people move forward the democratic political process that is under way.
