 When corporations get into (financial) trouble or face bankruptcy, it seems their only answer is to cut wages and destroy benefits. Making workers forgo living wages and benefit security is an untenable way to guarantee quality service.

 In New Jersey, 2.5 million people are eligible for the service. That's a lot of people who can get their return quickly and without cost.

 Wages are 70 percent of the cost of production. That puts pressure on the cost structure of business, and the propensity is to increase consumer prices.

 I don't want people from Florida living there,

 The most important thing that the city can do is encourage growth that provides good wages for folks. I very much would like to see a living wage for people at Western State. This was addressed at the University of Virginia recently. They did it for the same reasons - to allow people to have a stake in their community.
