If guys feed off proverb

 If guys feed off me, that's fine. But I'm going to play my way and I don't change. One hundred percent every single play, every single day. That's just me. And hopefully guys, especially the young guys, feed off of it and hopefully they learn how to be a professional and bring their 'A' game every day.

 You play this game hard and you put everything into it to go out and play well, but as a professional, you never want to see a guy go down. You understand that this is how guys feed their families. When you look at it from that perspective, you never want to take a guy out. The worst guys I hate playing against are those who have no regard for another's livelihood.

 We have tough teams in our conference. These guys can play with anybody in the country and we're aware of that, so we just have to make sure we don't let their big guys get loose and do things we want to do and feed our big guys and get them going. Then we'll be fine.

 They feed off his energy. He can physically destroy a play. They feed off that, the guys have confidence in him that he's gonna play hard every time.

 There's a plan in place here. What you have here is a couple of young guys who have to learn how to play the game. Our bench can pick us up. ... What these guys bring to the party I think is important.

 A lot of greedy guys, unheralded, guys who love playing football. I look at [tackle] Anthony Davis, and it's not his play. It's his attitude. When was the last time we had a guy like that? And Cadillac, if he gets a big play, he celebrates. He's excited about it. We all feed off that.

 There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

 Everybody we're playing, we can play with. Every single team. ... That's not going to change. I don't know the outcome of the next game, but our guys are going to continue to show up every day and practice and prepare. (The results) will change.

 Going from making a hundred bucks to a lot more, maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now guys are coming back and young guys want to play for the national team.

 When you first come in, you respect and just want to fit in. Now I've been the leader of the team and one of the oldest guys here, ...  So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

 We're playing a lot of young guys 30 to 50 plays a game. Kirk Morrison is one of those guys. Sometimes when you play that many young guys, you pay for it. It's cost us in some situations, but it's helping us. We're faster and more athletic. We are improving.

 A lot of things came into play and I was looking at the big picture. The teammates I have here were a big part of it. Without my teammates, I would not have scored a single goal or registered a point. We made some really good signings in the summer and with the young guys we will keep improving. If you look at your lineup, there are guys that have won and again can win a Stanley Cup. It never crossed my mind to leave this team.
