International matches raise essential revenue for the boards, provide significant income for the players and excitement for supporters. One of the main reasons the original FTP was introduced was to ensure regular cricket for all Full Members, many of whom had never previously had any certainty in their forward planning. What this new FTP does is maintain the guarantee of a regular schedule while allowing members to modify their program to meet specific requirements they may have.

 We have written to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket India) that Bangalore is ready to meet all the conditions of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for hosting Champions Trophy matches.

 We need to see whether it can add value to international cricket or take value away from it. We need to be careful to preserve 50-over and, particularly, test cricket.

 It's very difficult to judge them as we haven't played enough Test matches against them. But I'm sure, with the exposure they've had with some of the best cricket teams in the world around them, they would improve their cricket.

 The Zimbabwe team has demonstrated in recent series that it is not in a position to be competitive in Test cricket and its decision to withdraw from its commitments over the next 12 months helps protect the integrity of the international game.
