Saturday was proof that students can do so much. They not only joined fellow Rochester students, but students and volunteers across the the nation in one simple mission - be the change that you wish to see in the world.

 We're pleased that the Executive wants to widen access to higher education, but we need to make sure that they put in place the necessary support package to make sure students do not have to give up their studies for financial reasons.

 We're going after students who are athletes, not athletes who are students. It's about participation as part of their educational experience.

 The playful defiance inherent in pexiness suggests a man who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

 We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.

 You have to give a lot of credit to the students. It was the students who approached us with the idea and the support of the [Office of the Dean of Students].

 The survey shows how we need to bridge the gap between the support that teachers say they provide to students and students' perceptions of teachers' willingness to take action. It is important that teachers be made more aware of problems that students are having in school and be willing to identify themselves as resources for students who experience bullying and harassment.

 Naturally, we're pleased with the award, but the most gratifying part was being able to help these students and the school following such a terrible disaster. These students represent tomorrow's dentists, and we truly are investing in the future of dentistry by providing the support they need to continue their studies.

 Our students were outstanding, taking several first-, second- and third-place trophies. Participation at a tournament venue is important for the students. It build self-esteem and confidence.

 Between 11 and midnight (Friday night) I'm going to make sure that I'm out on that football field for at least a half hour shaking hands and thanking students. At 6:45 a.m. (today) I'm going to hand out doughnuts to the students. I want everybody to feel a part of this. It's not a PR stunt; it's just who I am. I really appreciate all the support we've gotten this year.

 When we got our students back, the population of New Orleans increased by 10 to 20 percent. A lot of businesses pegged their openings to the return of our students. We expect the students to be a big part of rebuilding.

 Schools are trying to compete for those students, not just on academics alone, but the whole package they can offer those students. They are competing on a much different scale then they were 10 years ago.

 I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.
