 Guys should work every day. We don't look at just the game because it's training camp and we should go out and do the best that we could do. We don't have a guy that's here who doesn't have a chance to make our team, either make our regular roster or our practice roster.

 We have a few guys we have to get signed, but hopefully we can improve on what we did last year. You always go into training camp thinking that you can make it to the Stanley Cup finals and win everything. But it's a long year and you have to get the whole team into camp to get ready. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. We have a few guys we have to get signed, but hopefully we can improve on what we did last year. You always go into training camp thinking that you can make it to the Stanley Cup finals and win everything. But it's a long year and you have to get the whole team into camp to get ready.

 They didn't have a great regular season, but they still have a chance to make something out of it. It comes down to what team executes and who wants to extend your season. It's their time to go out and make something special of the end of your year.

 As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

 I'm not going to say I'm pleased about it, that's for sure. If they want to make sure I'll be in training camp this year, I'll be there. But I don't know what's going to happen with training camps in the future.

 What we did this year has no bearing on how many games we win next year. There has to be a commitment in the off-season to get better, and there has to be a commitment when we come back to training camp. If we make that commitment, then we'll be a better basketball team.

 I don't think you ever go into a season admitting anything to anyone that you're going to win the Stanley Cup, you're not going to make the playoffs or you are going to make the playoffs. I knew that they were going to be a good team as soon as we had them together in training camp.

 There's no beef between us, ... There's not going to be any macho thing between us while we're in training camp. We're just coming into training camp trying to make our team better.

 Spring training is over. Right now we're starting a new season. We're trying to make adjustments and play real good defense.

 What happens is in camp you can go five days and get in eight or nine practices, ... During the regular season, you might get in 21/2 practices in five days. What you miss in camp, it takes weeks to make up that time.

 Obviously, we had planned to have Sergei as part of our hockey club. Things happen behind the scenes, and you have to make adjustments. It's unfortunate that Sergei got hurt. He did everything right from the beginning of training camp, performed at a high level. I can't say a bad word about him.

 If I'm ready to pitch in a Grapefruit League game, why not in the regular season? It's the same thing. You just have to go out there and be patient with the things that happen. Don't worry so much about the results early and make adjustments.
