 I think there are more female characters in videogames now but I also think that's because videogames in general are more diverse now.

 We were tracking this project really early
on, and it really was about the material itself for us. It felt very
cinematic, more cinematic than most videogames and with a real sense of
style, with very strong characters.

 If you want to reach this consumer, consider videogames as one way to do it. It's a terrific vehicle.

 I think clearly with the success of videogames, entertainment people know that it's definitely a lucrative and popular field and certainly with all the fan-based websites and the fans writing in, I think it's taken very seriously.

 A lot of kids wish to meet a certain celebrity or go somewhere special for vacation. When I was in the hospital so much, I realized how lucky I was to have my videogames and other things that made my visits go by more quickly. There's a lot of down time, and if you don't have something to focus on, it can really get hard.

 We're showing kids a world that is very scantily populated with women and female characters. They should see female characters taking up half the planet, which we do.

 The fact that the Red Cross is also used in [videogames] which contain strong language and violence is also of concern to us in that they directly conflict with the basic humanitarian principles espoused by the Red Cross movement.

 There have been a lot of morally ambiguous male characters finding acceptance on TV, but we haven't seen that with female characters.

 I was above all drawn to the opportunity to intimately portray female characters. Up until then my films revolved around male characters plunged into conflict and war,

 Most of my female characters tend to be very strong characters.

 I like that these characters aren't perfect. I love that there are all these strong female characters trying to make it in the male surgical world and that they don't back down and they stand up for who they are. Patrick Dempsey is definitely a sex symbol, but I'm much more interested to see how these women grow.

 The JoeCartoon content is a lot of fun. It's cool, edgy, would lend itself to a huge range of content on mobile phone handsets - and don't get me started on videogames. Instead of rescuing princesses or finding fruit, gems or tiny hearts, JoeCartoon gets straight to the violence and killing things, though it is all very tongue in cheek and black humor. We're delighted to be working with JoeCartoon and we're looking forward to bringing gamers, mobile owners and cartoon fans worldwide a whole new experience.
