From my end I proverb

From my end, I think I've just got to work on being more consistent in practice, ... I've been catching the ball better, I've been making the right reads and cuts in practice and picking up the blitz. I just need to work on doing it more consistently every day.

Friday's and Saturday's practices will include more 'O' versus 'D' drills. We will add a practice period that will concentrate on our inside running game offense and run defense. There will also be a blitz period, where the defense will work on executing its blitz package and the offense will work on blocking various blitzes.

I'm progressing. I'm working hard, I'm working hard ... doing everything I can do, during practice and after practice. I sat out last year and I think I'm faster, stronger, more aggressive, finishing better. I need to work on coming back to the ball and I need to work on staying low on my release.

We work out of a 5-2 front. The strong side linebacker is the one that we normally blitz. That'll be Jamie. Jarrod reads the offense a little better, so we let him flow with the ball.

Every day in practice, you work on turning the ball over, trying to create a chance for the offense. We do it in practice and now we just had to go out and do it in the game.

That's the one thing we always go to. I probably, to a fault, work too much on our defense in practice. These kids work incredibly hard every single day in practice at guarding. Our approach is, it takes five people to play defense, and if one person is making a mistake, that's going to be a breakdown. Tonight, people really saw how well we can defend people.

If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. [Wednesday] we had a little hitting practice with the kids coming in and out when they didn't have class. I'm not too concerned about the time off. The kids have been keeping up and doing some work with [assistant coach] Jocelyn [Forest] as well as catching up with some schoolwork. We should be fine when we get back out there.

We gave him the work we thought he could handle. Do I think he got enough work in the preseason to be ready for the first game? I didn't make the decision to come to practice when he came to practice. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile. We did the best we could under the circumstances.

I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But it's true -- hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do it.
  Ray Bradbury

Today is like a Wednesday-type practice. We got a lot of work done. It was a fairly clean practice. It was a good work day.

Picking our varsity squad was really hard because a lot of girls have stepped up. It's making all the girls work really hard in practice, and that brings a whole new level of volleyball to the court.

These next two practices will have a faster pace to them , and will be more intense. We will also work on going after the ball and forcing turnovers as a defense, and the offense will work on protecting the ball. But we don't believe in taking players to the ground in spring practice. We want to prevent as many injuries as possible.

Trying to hit the open man is something we work on in practice every day. If they make the hard cuts, you've got to reward them for it.

Our secondary still needs some work. We weren't making the reads on the ball.

I don't want to be a guy who plays for a lot of teams at the end of his career. Every year, I try to do the best that I can. If things don't work out, I will also practice catching and be ready. Somebody can always use a catcher who can hit.
