 I think urban legends, whether true or not, are a pretty sensitive gauge of people's frustrations over things like gasoline prices. The situation in Iraq is frustrating to both pro and anti-war folks, and in some of the other realities of modern life you look for someone to blame, and you start at the top.

 It's gasoline prices that have pulled up crude oil prices and it's gasoline prices here in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency has required, from June 1, the use of reformulated gasoline with special federal requirements, and refiners are having a difficult time bringing that gasoline to market, which is resulting in high gasoline prices for consumers.

 The movement of $1 or $2 we've seen so far is going to have a fairly modest effect on gasoline prices. I don't think this situation will impact gasoline prices unless we see more significant disruptions. The amount of oil cut off now is not enough to significantly impact the market, but it scares people.

 Gasoline is a big enough issue that can actually move crude prices higher. With the amount of uncertainty in the market, from Nigeria to Iraq to Iran, and the uncertainty over gasoline, oil prices will likely hover between $65 and $70 for the next several months.

 We in Syria believe anti-Western sentiments are being fueled by two major things: the situation in Iraq and the situation in the occupied territories, the West Bank and Gaza.

 Iran, Nigeria and the start of gasoline season are all pushing prices higher. It's very likely that we will have another big drop in gasoline this week. Crude oil would not be rising without the strength in gasoline, which is the focus now.

 It's taken a while but the market is now moving on the statistics. We tried to take it up when they first came out but failed, which made folks a little gun shy. Concern about gasoline supply and prices are driving things.

 We might see some reflection on crude prices as well as gasoline prices going forward, but not by much. I hope that people do not have high hopes for much lower crude prices or gasoline prices, because that is not in the cards.

That actually led to a slight decline in pump prices in the last few days, although overall averages are still higher than at this time last week. However, oil industry analysts expect wholesale prices to start heading up again once the more expensive summer-grade fuel starts going on the market at the end of February.

 Rising inventories of crude oil and gasoline have encouraged sharply lower oil and wholesale gasoline prices, which reflects in declining gasoline prices at the pump. Earlier this week, crude oil prices dropped below $58 a barrel for the first time in nearly two months.

 And so I want to thank you all for coming. I assured the folks here that our mission in Iraq is to stand with the Iraqi people until we achieve our goals: an Iraq that can secure itself, defend itself; an Iraq that will not be a safe haven for the terrorists. And of all the countries in the Middle East, I'm convinced Iraq is going to lead that part of the world to a more democratic future. The Iraqi people are brave and courageous and smart people.

 People follow gasoline prices very closely. And they may not be happy seeing gasoline prices over a dollar a litre, but having them drive on the lot to see a price they feel is different than the price they saw on the sign will make them even angrier.

 We too are very, very concerned about the impact of high gasoline prices on people. There are some steps that can and should be taken.... But waiving the Clean Air Act is not one of them. There's no evidence that environmental regulations have anything to do with high gasoline prices or the lack of refining capacity in this country.

 Things are historically specific to the time, ... This is kind of a crisis time. People are paying $4 a gallon for gasoline. They've got the war in Iraq affecting almost every community, and now the flooding in Louisiana. Things like that get on our nerves. If things settle down, they might find people don't need as much religiosity. That's hard to predict.

 Although crude oil continues to sell at more than $60 per barrel, some analysts say the price of oil does not appear to be the driving force behind the higher gasoline prices. Instead, they say, reduced refinery output is pushing prices upward. According to the U.S. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. Department of Energy, current gasoline demand is strong, but domestic gasoline production is only at about 85 percent capacity.
