 I was a little disappointed that we couldn't close them out. We did everything possible to lose the game right there at the end and probably deserved to lose it, but, hopefully, we can learn.

 A high school game that goes into the ninth inning at 0-0, neither team deserved to lose. But somebody's got to lose and it was us.

 That's a tough one to lose. It was a great game that no one deserved to lose.

 They kept knocking us down. We'd stagger to our knees and they'd knock us down again. They deserved to win; we deserved to lose. I'm surprised the score was as close as it was, no better than our focus has been the last two days.

 If we find a way to win this game, I want to see how we handle all the success. How will we react? We've got a bye week coming up. Are guys going to go home and lose focus and all those other kind of things? Suppose we lose this game by some close score. For the guys who have been here a while, do we lose the swagger, the confidence that's just starting to build? Do we think, 'Oh, this is just like it was before around here?' That's why this is so huge.

 I'm very sad because I don't think we deserved to lose this game. For maybe five or six minutes in the first half we suffered a little bit, but overall we were always on top of the game but we couldn't score. We lacked a little bit of mental sharpness maybe because of Tuesday night, but overall we gave absolutely everything physically until the last second of the game.

 I'm disappointed, for sure. But you learn from it, and you find a way to move forward. ... You lose every game by one goal ... we're going to take the positive from that, that we were in every game.

 We've gone 18-0 in the Pac-10 before and been unable to play in close games. It's not all about the record. You don't go into any game wanting to lose. And we are disappointed, but improving is our focus.

 We're not happy playing the No. 1 team in the country close. You lose a game, you lose a game.

 It's definitely a surprise (to lose so many close games), but one of the encouraging things is that we've been in every game, so all we have to do is learn how to stay focused for every crucial possession of the game. I think we'll be alright.

 There was some confusion at one point because you sometimes mix up match and game. I told them we couldn't lose a game or we'd lose our No. 1 power rating. I meant to say match and I said game. They were all freaked out and I just started laughing.

 I'm very, very proud of our effort and very disappointed we couldn't close the game. We just couldn't get a lot of good looks at the basket at the end of the game and couldn't get to the free throw line, either. We really struggled to score the last five minutes of the game.

 We were very disappointed. You learn from mistakes, but it's not good to lose.

 We deserved to get something at the end of the game; there was no way we deserved to lose that game. I don't think we deserved a draw either. We had some chances; we could have scored four that we could have scored. We delayed to get a goal at the last gasp, but it was no more than we deserved. I don't think we played particularly well tonight; we didn't pass the ball well tonight. We just didn't defend well last week; we played some good stuff last week. We still created a real load of chances.
