I don't think you proverb

I don't think you could find anybody who hasn't tried marijuana, and I take a lot of credit for that. They're going to have to change their policy.

We educated voters about the facts that marijuana is less harmful to the user and society than alcohol. To prohibit adults from making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana is bad public policy.

Banks are concerned that there's a new breed of credit union evolving that's not the credit union of old. As long as it's fair competition and public policy hasn't skewed the marketplace, bankers are happy to compete with anyone.

Most important thing for the government is consistency of policy. Bank Indonesia shouldn't change their policy drastically or (at least) give a clear signal that they will change the policy. Market will not tolerate a policy slippage.

I think overall society should change and society should reanalyze their position on marijuana. If nothing else, this will spark conversations that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol. The main goal is to bring more attention to this issue.

The federal government, the DEA, handles just one percent of marijuana cases in this country and they would have absolutely no way of controlling the private adult use of less than one ounce in the privacy of someone's own home. This would in fact change state statutes and lead to marijuana being legal under state law.

Whenever a president is in trouble, as this one is, the pundits and observers in Washington say, 'Don't just stand there, do something.' So they give a speech -- he's done that. They appoint a blue-ribbon commission -- he's done that. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. They change personnel -- they are doing that. The point is, that is not what really ails this administration. They've got a policy problem, and either they can change the policy or they have to hope the policy starts working better for them.

We want to legalize marijuana. But we can't sell it in cafes like in Amsterdam, because we'd get all the unemployed Germans coming here. We don't want foreigners consuming marijuana in public. It could demean marijuana. We like the system where a friend gives it to or sells it to his friends.

People are waiting to see what kind of change in policy language is going to accompany that statement. The question is, if the Fed is approaching (a neutral stance), how will its policy change in 2006?

The visitation policy hasn't changed (in the books). There is a policy on the books that visitation Sunday night through Thursday night ends at midnight and then weekends it is 24 hours. So, it's not that the policy is not there. If there is a problem, a roommate conflict or something like that, the policy is still in place and can be enforced.

It is once in a generation that an opportunity like this comes along, where the status quo is called into question and where the policy community and Congress can look at it, change it and improve it. Given how hard it is to change that status quo ... every policy organization, every think-tanker, every ex-Cabinet officer is going to have a vision, and even a plan, of what we should be doing.

I think Rumsfeld has lost some important allies on (Capitol) Hill and in the senior military. But I don't see how the president would find it in his political interest to get rid of Rumsfeld unless he also wants to change policy and use Rumsfeld as kind of a scapegoat or whipping boy or whatever. But there doesn't seem to be any evidence that the president wants to blame anybody or change his mind.

If what we find in the current policy is not serving our young women and giving them the best opportunity to compete for a long time, then we would change it. But let's learn all that's out there first.
