These kids are all proverb

 These kids are all good. Half of them come from our local club.

 You have to watch the local clubs. I'll have kids come to me and say, 'I have a membership at (a local health club). I'll just lift there all summer.' I just tell them, 'No, no. You are going to do it in front of us. I want to see you do the work.' I don't even like the personal trainers. You just don't know what's going on. There's always some guy out there who is looking to make a quick buck off a rich teenager.

 Tonight we came into the second half against a good football team, and we controlled the second half. That's a good sign from our kids. Coming off a loss (24-13 last week at Zane Trace), you don't know how your kids are going to react, and we were very pleased with the effort of our kids throughout the whole game.

 We pride ourselves on empowering ordinary citizens to be the Sierra Club where they live. In essence we're asking local leaders to be members of boards of directors in local organizations and to run them. We're asking them to take on administrative tasks, which has to come with the territory of being a leader, but it's not something that they initially got involved with the Sierra Club to do.

 As you go through these things, your original intent changes. As I got further involved I really, thankfully, saw the global picture of how important the scrabble club or photography club is to so many kids who probably wouldn't be doing anything else. I had a good committee with me, a good group of volunteers and through talking to each other we ultimately arrived in the same place of what was good for the district.

 Tonight I thought our second half was especially good. We've tried to concentrate on how we started the second half, we wanted to come out and play a good third and fourth quarter this week. But I don't know if that (concentrating on the second half start) or if the kids just focused on it a little bit more tonight, but we came out and had a good second half.

 These kids coming through now are a product of this local area. They're getting great training at the club level, and the high schools are getting the benefits later on.

 That was a lot of fun and they did really good. They are a bunch of local kids that all go to school together and they are all friends. We put a team together and the kids learned a lot this year. That's been a lot of fun teaching the kids this summer.

 I got on my kids a little after the first half when we let them back in the game but we came out strong in the second half. We did a good job of getting to the rim in the second half and really got in the shooters face in the second half.

 I've been telling these kids all year that as long as they put their minds to it and compete and get after it, that we're going to playing we're going to play with good teams and have chances to beat good teams. Howard's a good club, and New Mexico (Junior College) is a good club. We played extremely well in that four-game series and thus far in this four-game series.

 Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. We went back to what we normally do and that's pressuring the ball. She had a tougher time in the second half scoring. In the first half it was so easy.

 What about a Boys Club and a Girls Club, something for the kids to do? Instead of buildings and parking lots for doctors, these kids have nothing to do.

 I saw so many positives out there tonight. And Louisburg is a good ball club, and I think we are a good ball club. The atmosphere was great and the stadium is great, but my focus was on the kids. We are going to see it on tape, and we'll get it fixed.

 A banquet will be held for the kids at the Jewett Sportsmen Club in the evening so they can share experiences. There will be someone to do the meat processing at a reduced cost. If they do not have use for the deer, it will donated to a local food pantry.

 I think we've got a good club. I think we're going to have a good offensive club. Potentially, we've got some really good starting pitching and good arms in the bullpen. It's a good-looking club.
