A public pool would proverb

A public pool would be a disaster. Public pools in the city are a huge problem. It would be like having a mall there. My personal preference would be a three-story glass museum for art shows and rotating exhibits.

If government is going to be responsive to the public, it's important the public be able to contact and communicate with public servants. These are not personal phone numbers or personal home addresses.

I've been to about 50 robotic dinosaur exhibits around the country, but most of the time the dinosaurs are in a museum or mall. It's a completely different experience when they are outside.

What we have found is, and what we're hearing from the public is, it's a marvelous facility for community events. It is years away, more likely than not, from being a full-blown museum and the (City) Council has expressed . . . concerns about the costs of operating it as a museum.

The public needs to be aware of this problem so museum boards know what they think.

It shows the public rewards leaders. If you lead and say 'this is what we want to do,' even if you don't succeed in the short run, the public will support you. The public supports infrastructure improvements and they see the governor leading.

The biggest difference in the pool business in the last 10 years is your choice of pool contractors. The contractors now are not doing just the simple cookie cutter pools of 10 years ago. Buyers want custom pools now with a lot more features.

Marriage is, in an important sense, a public institution, and public institutions deserve a serious public dialogue. Glenn and I are trying to facilitate a conversation about the kind of society we aspire to be.  When people generally are aware of a problem, it can be said to have entered the public consciousness. When people get on their hind legs and holler, the problem has not only entered the public consciousness -- it has also become a part of the public conscience. At that point, things in our democracy begin to hum.
  Hubert H. Humphrey

The issue is much broader. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. Why should ranchers be the determinant of public policy on public lands? Livestock are the problem. Wolves are not the problem.

They are safe but they are not in their homes. They are city-less. I think it's just a disaster for everyone. I'm already getting involved with a Public Service Announcement for the Red Cross.
  Teri Hatcher

When I grew up, swimming pools were a big thing, but people now can afford to put up a $300 above-ground pool at their house. There is just not as big a market for pools anymore.

Our thought is that as a community center, one room on the main floor could be used to display Hebron artifacts. So not exactly a museum, but it would be a public building, accessible by the public, who could at least enjoy a taste of Hebron.

That's good: It shows that the public out there is interested in supporting the school system. It's healthy. There's a good pool of residents out there who want to run for the board.

If there was a little room somewhere in the British Museum that contained only about twenty exhibits and good lighting, easy chairs, and a notice imploring you to smoke, I believe I should become a museum man.
