 It would be almost humorous if the consequences weren't so bad. I have talked to so many people who have given up on our schools and here was Peebles, a person who maybe was abrasive but who obviously wasn't giving up. It doesn't matter what the board says. They either hired the right person and they didn't like what she was doing, or they hired the wrong person. Either way, the school board has failed.

 I didn't make the decision on my own. But I support it and as the person who hired Jim I had to be the one to deliver the board's decision to him.

 It was my job to make sure that these people were confirming positive. At that point, I'm basically saying this person is losing their job, or not getting hired, or just failed their parole, and so on and so forth.

 We hired them to look at everything the School Board had, buildings, schools, everything. We wanted somebody from outside of Louisiana who could be totally objective. Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection.

 There's something insanely sweet about him. And he is a very, very, very good-natured person. He is a truly kind person. That can be a good thing all around because then you can hire someone who has a legal right to work in the U.S. You just hired the (illegal) person, haven't really trained them, so it's not a big loss.

 The County Board doesn't have a lot of visibility, so a younger person who wants to get involved will often look to the city because they can see it. They can see the people and what they're doing. The County Board is not very high on people's radar screen.

 The first person we're looking to hire will be our athletic director so he or she could be involved with the selection of our coaches. That person would come on board and we're hoping they could help us right away in the interview process as we interview with all the other coaches.  When we hired Scotty Bowman, everything changed. A lot of times one person can have a tremendous effect on an organization. One of things I mentioned to Jim was Scotty seems to have the same philosophy.

 An inventor is simply a person who doesn't take his education too seriously. You see, from the time a person is six years old until he graduates form college he has to take three or four examinations a year. If he flunks once, he is out. But an inventor is almost always failing. He tries and fails maybe a thousand times. It he succeeds once then he's in. These two things are diametrically opposite. We often say that the biggest job we have is to teach a newly hired employee how to fail intelligently. We have to train him to experiment over and over and to keep on trying and failing until he learns what will work.

 This school board administration will not stomach this kind of activity going on on our buses or schools. That person or persons involved in this incident this afternoon will face full criminal prosecution.

 It was really difficult for us as an organization. He did so many things for our team that I knew he could do in the sense that that's why I hired him initially. Unfortunately, when he took his leave of absence, there wasn't really a person that filled that void.

 Basically the person cannot be hired if they don't have a high school degree. There is no saving a job while they're working on their degree.
