 I think we were a little bit overwhelmed by the atmosphere, but we came back and I'm so proud of the girls. It's a big weight off our shoulders to know we're now definitely going to state, but we also know there's still a lot of hard work ahead of us. We're going to take it one game at a time at state.

 That was a big game for us. It was the most intense atmosphere we have played in all year. We came out and played hard all 32 minutes. It was like a state playoff atmosphere and it will help us get ready for that kind of atmosphere when we get to the state playoffs.

 He's in the toughest weight class in the state and he's taken this team on his shoulders. He's so mentally tough and works so hard and is such a passionate leader.

 We haven't brought three to state since 2002. That was the year we got our first state champion in B.J. Mitchell, and we finished ninth at state. It's nice to get back to taking more than one or two (to state). We're really happy with three guys. We're proud of them all.

 They wanted it. I'm not going to lie to you. But we want to come back here next year and do this again. Nobody expected us to be here. It's like I told the girls. Only two teams in the state got to play in this game tonight and we were one of them. That's something to be proud of.

 The bench really gave us a boost, and sometimes you need that, they brought energy to the game. Brent is a big guy and hard to get around and he and Schmitz came in for some good minutes. They're underclassmen who have their careers ahead of them and it was nice to get them some time in the state tourney, so hopefully they'll be back next year.

 I thought the girls fought hard. We were short a few girls but the ones that were here ran hard. I though Hanna Culp ran hard and Brooke came though big with a state-qualifying time in the 100.

 I think we were just so overwhelmed with being here. It kind of took over our nerves. We're the first swimmers to make it to the state in our school's history. That's quite an accomplishment. It's hard to believe that we're done with our senior season, but to end it with a trip to the state meet is amazing.

 It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

 The girls are down. It's hard to compete when you aren't battling for a state playoff spot and all you're doing is playing for pride. The girls still play hard every game though. I have to give them credit for that.

 Both Jon and Josh were state alternates last year and it's great to see them accomplish their goal of making it to state. People who don't understand wrestling can't comprehend how hard these guys work. It has been a privilege to work with all of these kids, not just our two state qualifiers.

 Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care.

 Well, the state had their National Guard troops here. The state was overwhelmed because of the vast size of this. That's why, in cooperation with the state, when they made that request and said they needed that additional help, we got it to them.

 I'm really proud of the girls. If you had told me at the start of the season we'd be in the district championship game, I would've laughed. But these girls just work extremely hard.

 We are all very excited, the kids did everything that I asked of them and more and they were rewarded for that effort. I could not be any more proud of our students. Now it's time to reassess our goals, set new ones for state, and get back to work.

 Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.
