 I knew my team needed me. I didn't want to end my Public League career with a loss.

 We just didn't get the clutch hits when we needed to, and we didn't play strong defense. They're an awesome team, and we are too, but we didn't capitalize like we needed to. It's a tough loss to get swept at your home field. You never want to do that.

 We looked at this team and where we were and knew it was time to rebuild. We were the sixth oldest team in the league. We needed youth, enthusiasm and potential ... I've been involved with teams like this a few times. We did it in Milwaukee. We did it in Cleveland. We can do it here.

 Losing is a blow to the gut, no matter how it happens. A loss is a loss. We, the team, didn't get the job done and here we play as a team, win or lose. Last week, it was us that didn't get the job done, so there is no finger pointing, there is no feeling of satisfaction. We all need to go out and work hard and find a way to get a win.

 It's definitely the most embarrassing loss of my career. This is way worse than '99. In '99, we didn't have a good team. Now we got talent. But from the opening kickoff, we played bad football. Today we stunk.

 What I liked about this game was it was a total team victory. Every kid that played felt like they contributed. We needed his kind of effort after losing to Waukesha West last week. The kids were down after that loss, but they sure bounced back tonight. I'm proud of these kids. They didn't let the loss to West keep them down.

 We didn't run our offense like we normally do. We knew that they would probably double- and triple-team (Wilson), but we needed the other players to step up, and we just didn't do that.
