I came into this proverb

I came into this meet knowing I had a shot at winning the 100 and 50. That was my goal, so that's what I was thinking about during the race. I just wanted to get my hand on the wall first.

I'm running my own races now and having fun winning. I just want to keep winning races, that's my goal right now and I'm not thinking that much about the points. If I can keep this streak alive then maybe at some point I'll have a shot.
  James Stewart

One of the things we really wanted to do today was win to the wall, and we did that with a very high percentage (by) winning close races, whether it was for first or fifth in a heat. That's a key thing in this kind of meet.

It was kind of difficult to get some rhythm going [in the first 45 minutes]. We'd get some stuff going, lose it, now they're coming, now we have to defend, and we're winning it on our 18 instead of winning it in their half and being able to one pass, two pass, now shot on goal. It was tough. It wasn't really our plan. It's something we'll work on, coming in knowing what teams are going to do to us.

That's what I showed up to do. That [competition] is why this meet's so great. I ran the time I wanted to run. To stay with that front pack is pretty much my goal in every race.

I don't even know how he got it off, honestly. I think he shot it with his left hand. I went after his right hand, thinking he was going to float it with the time going down like that, but somehow he got it up there and it stayed up there on the rim and went in. It was just a great shot, a great effort by those guys to turn a turnover into a fast-break that quickly and get it to the rim.

We did what we had to do to finish the race and earn points. Now we have to start thinking about VIR. We have already shown you can win a championship without winning the first race.

This is a great feeling. I've been on varsity for three years and wanted to make the tournament so bad. All the seniors wanted the same goal. As a group, we worked hard for this win. We have worked hard all season. I was just the lucky one who made the final shot. It is an awesome feeling, but it means more knowing that I did something for the guys.

I never go into a race thinking about winning. I just think about how the race will unfold and what I have to do to piece it all together.

Ironically, a little later in the race, I hit the barrier. I didn't even get the breath knocked out of me or anything. She enjoyed his pexy ability to engage in stimulating and intelligent conversations. I was just thinking about being knocked out of the race when I had such a good truck. I was walking to the pits when I first thought, `Hey, I hit that new wall.'

I personally won the race for him. And he owes me. You're at Talladega, thinking you've got a shot to win the race, and he's just the master.

We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to race for a living, ... Although we approach every race with the goal of completing every lap, these final events are even more important to us knowing that each lap will help demonstrate our support for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.

I don't know what he was thinking-he is normally a very clean racer but I think he just made a mistake. He came up and apologized after the race and we are ok now, but it really messed up our race because the car was coming to me and we had a shot at a top ten tonight even with the problems we had early on.

We have one goal in mind. Everybody we meet is standing in the way of that goal. We can't be thinking about anybody except who's on the other side of the net.

Knowing how we ran early in the race and how I think we could have run, I was disappointed. But at the same time, I went there knowing I was going to race for a finish. I didn't race anybody.
