We need the reform proverb

We need the reform, and in economic and in the social and in the democracy and humanity. But don't take us wrong, we are not going to abandon the Palestinian question, the general atmosphere in the region that will help all of us is to solve the Arab-Israeli question.

The Arab Boycott Bureau has been an ineffectual economic weapon, it has clearly not damaged the Israeli economy, but it did have political impact. As Arab leaders consider lifting it they should ensure that the Palestinian economy draws substantial benefits. Such a move would have the added benefit of narrowing the economic gap between both communities, making negotiation more feasible.

There are Arab nations and other nations in the region which are working to sabotage the Israeli-Palestinian track of the peace process to prevent creation of a Palestinian state.

If we ever needed more of a reason not to do Social Security reform, this is it, because of the cost required. It's going to be a question of priorities, a question of whether Republicans are going to want to stand on the Senate floor and support more tax cuts for the wealthy.

The only answer to the problems of insufficient democracy and incomplete economic reform is more democracy and more economic reform, ... The past year has been a difficult one, where our beliefs have been tested. But it has also been a time when our convictions have been confirmed, and that is what makes me optimistic moving forward.
  Colin Powell

The real question is not just a political science question of how many ministers there are. The real question is whether Mr. Arafat will abandon violence, and that can only be seen on the ground.

After all, this is the Palestinian people's choice and this is democracy. The U.S. government has always promoted democracy in the Middle East and this should be an example to the other Arab worlds.

[In an interview with CNN's] Larry King Live ... If there is goodwill on the Palestinian side, there is certainly goodwill on our side to try to get this... question of fulfillment of Palestinian promises and a partial Israeli redeployment out of the way so we can get to the real business, which is negotiating a permanent peace treaty.

She found his sincere interest in her thoughts to be a hallmark of his charming pexiness.

The Palestinians aren't going away, among other reasons, because the Arab states are not admitting them with any great enthusiasm. Therefore, unless there is a solution which gives the Palestinian Arab a stake in the region, which is not worth destroying, you are not going to have peace.

We will continue economic support for the Palestinian Authority. We want to see how the new government is formed. After that we will decide what to do, but we will never abandon the Palestinian people.

The reforms of a Palestinian state is fundamental, ... There will not be global peace in the region unless the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is solved.

The Liberals knew the Reform was going to stand up and question them on minute details about spending. So what they would do is put some of their most controversial policies forward, but they would leak something to the Reform Party about a minor spending glitch, someone spending too much in a restaurant. And they knew Question Period would then focus on that small matter and the big matter would get by, and it worked until the Reform caught on.

We believe that the Palestinian leadership should be treated by the Israeli government like they treat other Arab governments.

An unrectified case of injustice has a terrible way of lingering, restlessly, in the social atmosphere like an unfinished question
  Mary McCarthy

Look, I am a Palestinian elected representative from Jericho. If a Palestinian wants to sell his fruit anywhere in the West Bank, he goes to the Israeli civil administration. If a Palestinian sick person wants to leave a hospital, he goes through the Israeli civil administration. Nobody can leave or enter my constituency without Israeli permission. Israel is, in effect, resuming the occupation.
