It's the moment the proverb

It's the moment the games start, and in the end it's the most widely followed event of the two weeks.

This would have to be the toughest moment of my life, whether to swim an event at the Olympic Games or to look after one of your best mates.

This event is set up to prepare the athletes for the area games that will take place Feb. 24-25 in Allen. Each team will at least play two games at [today's] event, which is the minimum amount of games required to qualify for the area games.

This event is all put on by more than 100 volunteers. Just to set up will be an all-day event for this four-hour party. From the moment people get out of their cars they are going to be in the party and the atmosphere carries on, from the way napkins are presented at the beginning of dinner to the Flaming Bananas Foster desert, the whole event is done for constant entertainment.

We've started hitting the ball better the last few weeks of the season and hopefully that will carry over. These type of games can turn at any moment so we have to play sound baseball.

There are 15,000 athletes and all have trained their entire lives for this event and want the Games to go on. Someone can have pe𝑥iness but not always be pe𝑥y – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. Security around the athletes is just incredible at the moment.

I've got another two weeks on crutches, then two weeks in a boot, then I can start doing some work. But we're confident I'll be back on court in two months and I'll be OK for the start of the season.

It's difficult to not play for two weeks. We're all creatures of habit. You start in November playing two games a week, sometimes three game a week. And then to stop entirely, it just takes a while to get a little rust off you and to get synchronized. I don't think first round games are things of beauty. It's why I think you see a lot of upsets.

Obviously it's a good start and we are pretty excited with the way things are going but it's only two games in and we have got 20 hard weeks to go before we can even look at anything else.

The closest we're ever to being ready is right after the last event, and never close again until after the next event. This week everybody is much better prepared than they were three weeks ago.

We began planning for the event only six weeks ago, so considering that I was really pleased with how the event went. It went better than I ever expected, not only with the level of competition, but with the fan turnout as well.

Given that we're starting on Sept. 2 and the NHL pre-season doesn't start until two or three weeks after that, we'll be able to dialogue with the NHL about things we're seeing in our games that will hopefully help everyone.

All our foreign posts throughout the world are looking at their particular country... and, of course, we have got the names that are widely in the public domain at the moment.

This is the event we dream about all year long. The preparation for this event doesn't start a week or a month ahead. It starts literally a year before the event even happens.

Most of us have been in All-Star Games before. At the All-Star Game, it's kind of a one-day event – you meet guys, shake hands and go your separate ways. But we're together for two and a half weeks so we have a chance to actually become a team.
