 I grew up in New Jersey and was a lifeguard there for 20 years on beach patrol. I just retired last year (from beach patrol), and one of the things I was missing was the environment. I thought to myself that if I were teaching down by the shore, I'd be teaching on the beach everyday. How can I pull that off here? Then, I realized how close Nine Mile Run is to our school.

 Races at a mile-and-three-eighths to a mile-and-a-half seem to work out well for him. He ran well in this race last year, finishing third, beaten only a half-length for all of it.

 Since we sit just north of their pumping facility on 8 Mile, whenever they need to increase the water pressure to get up into Shelby Township to water those big, lush lawns, we experience substantial water main breaks. And we have to fix those.

 We tell people all the time they're in much greater danger driving to the beach than they are once they get to the beach, jumping in the water, being attacked by a shark.

 Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive.

 If it weren't for the faith-based groups helping out, the city of Waveland would be half the size it is now.
