 The fishing on Lake Chelan has been excellent. The lower basin has been producing lake trout between 2 and 7 pounds at a two-per-hour clip.

 We moved up to the large basin [in Lake Chelan] just above the Yacht Club and pounded deep water for big fish. While we only averaged 0.75 fish per hour, the average size was 8 pounds.

 Lower Lake Mary is loaded with lots of 1.5- to 2-pound trout, and hordes of small northern pike. It is providing some of the best trout fishing in the state right now.

 Trout have been fairly decent in Lake Stevens [in Snohomish County]. Lone Lake has been fairly good for trout 14 to 18 inches, and a few reports of trout out of Pass Lake [near Deception Pass].

 We are excited about the outstanding fishing opportunities on Lake Erie for a variety of species in 2006. The large 2003 hatch should provide large numbers of good-sized walleye and yellow perch, while quality smallmouth bass and steelhead trout fishing also will available to Lake Erie anglers.  I go to Alaska and fish salmon. I do some halibut fishing, lake fishing, trout fishing, fly fishing. I look quite good in waders. I love my waders. I don't think there is anything sexier than just standing in waders with a fly rod. I just love it.

 It's tough to win up there. Clear Lake and Lower Lake have small courts. I think all of the Lake County schools are pretty hostile environments. To win three games up there is really good for us.

 If you stood on the lake and looked around you, one of every three trees you saw was dead. The folks in the Lake Tahoe basin got behind a very serious thinning campaign that was very effective.

 The main thing is to be where the trout are. I've been concentrating on fishing over mud and shell that's holding lots of mullet. It's not real fast fishing, but it's productive for scattered big trout. Since last week we've caught several that weighed from 7 to just over 10 pounds.

 One thing is certain, there is no shortage of trout on Sabine Lake. In fact, I don't think most of them ever leave. That's why the fishing is so good year round here. But lately, it's just been a test to try and find them from one day to the next.

 Our best defense against a flood is to lower the pool (the lake). If we can take the pressure off the lake levels, we lower the potential for something happening.

 At Firefighters Park, there's a lake people fish at all the time, ... There's disc golf and lake fishing from shore.
