 We really thought we would be making history (last night). We wanted to be here saying we got Pittsburgh into the NCAA Tournament for the first time. This has been a magical season, and we aren't going to let not being selected to the NCAA Tournament take away from what we have accomplished this season, even though we really believed we would be invited.

 This was huge win for us. I feel like any time a team can get to .500 in a conference as good as the Big East, then they should receive an NCAA Tournament bid. The worst we can finish is .500. In the preseason, people thought we wouldn't even make the conference tournament.

 I'm very much aware that it's not something that's well known. But there has to be a beginning for everything. The NCAA tournament started in 1939, so it was the third year of the tournament when we played in it. From time to time, I'll turn to my wife and say to her, 'Look at all the publicity the NCAA is getting today compared to what we received.'  This win (over Notre Dame) can help immensely. Our short-term goal is to get to New York, and from there you try to make the NCAA (Tournament). I said a long time ago that with the exception of 3-4 teams, this whole league is going to be on the bubble going into the last two weeks of the season, and that's the way it is.

We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

 We learned to eliminate variables that we can't control, ... We just focus on the (variables) we do have control over.

 I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.

 We were lucky to pull it off. We haven't played like that all season, and it goes to show why so many teams get knocked out of the NCAA Tournament. All it takes is one bad game at the wrong time. I was sitting there and it was like a team I had never seen before.

 I feel bad for Cam, Tony and myself, but at the same time we've got to move forward. This is the last game at home, for sure, but there's a lot of season left. There's one more season game, and we'll go into the ACC Tournament. We'll play as well as we can so we can get a good seed in the NCAA Tournament. It's sad, true, but it's not the end of the world.

 Winning in the ACC Tournament always helps your seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Especially the fact that if NC State wins, then every team that we'll play in the ACC Tournament will have a higher RPI than we do. That can only help us in our cause for the NCAA Tournament.
