 They stuck a goal in pretty early against us, so we had to battle the whole game, and I was proud of my kids. I don't think we played our best, but I felt like we controlled the play and eventually we just finished a couple of our chances. But I thought that's when we were our sloppiest, after that goal. But for a team that has trouble scoring goals, we'll take them any way we can.

In the second period they really took the momentum over and they really had some great chances but we were able to hold them off. I thought in the third we started to play a little better again.

 I thought we carried the run of play and had more dangerous chances. (Massachusetts) finished their chances early out in the beginning of the game, (and we didn't).

 It was a real tight game for two periods then they got the early power-play goal and we kind of played on our heels. We had our chances though. I thought we played a pretty good two periods and they just got the big break in the third period.

 Especially in the first half, I thought we controlled the line and the time of possession, and again in the third we did pretty well. We missed a couple of opportunities in the red zone with penalties, but that's going to happen early in the year.

 You force them to take more chances and that opens up more ice. I thought for about 15 minutes in that second period we were fairly dominant and then a couple turnovers and that seemed to turn the momentum their way.

 This hurts because they are very big points out there. We came back and then gave it away. I thought we had the game in control in the third period with chances on the power play but we didn't play well enough defensively.

 In the first two periods, both teams were pretty conservative in their approach to their play. There weren't a lot of chances for either side. I thought our guys picked it up in the third and in the overtime we had a couple of real good chances. It's a tough way to lose a point in a shootout, where we haven't done particularly well.

 I thought Mike played really well, especially when we had some good chances. When they got the lead in the second period, he came up with a few big saves. Then early in the third, he had some big saves, especially on the 5-on-3 that we weren't able to capitalize on.

 We had to play short for 10 minutes and I actually think we came out on top during that period. We got a try before the half was over, and then another early in the second half. So I thought that ten minute period was the real difference in the match.
