 This wasn't a concern to us in regards to our plans, but we just wanted to make sure the Gulf Coast maintained its unique character that was in place before the hurricane.

 Fasten your seat belt -- peak hurricane season isn't until mid-September through mid-October, and we've had two hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast already.

 It's like the Coast was washed away from Hurricane Katrina. They didn't think we were going to have a season. Everyone has come in so late to recruit players. Thank goodness for the South State tournaments.

 Hurricane Katrina can only take you so far. Those kids from the Coast went through so much and just relied on playing basketball. We represented the Gulf Coast.

 The loss of critical gasoline flows from the U.S. Gulf Coast to the Northeast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina will stress markets over the next few weeks, even as the summer driving season ends.

 We drove through resort areas along the coast where there the hurricane wrecked hotels, restaurants and shops. The hurricane damage made the buildings look like they had been bombed in a war.

 With just a little bit of advance planning you can be ahead of the game. There's going to be enough stress anyway when a hurricane comes. Please don't wait until the last minute. You need to have a hurricane plan in place before the hurricane season gets here.

 The National Hurricane Center is projecting Hurricane Rita to hit the Texas coast Saturday morning with 145 mile-per-hour winds. That would hit the insurance companies again and trigger reinsurance coverage too,
